well, you called me on the book thing, now i gotta go dig them out...
basically anything by Emanuel Kant, David Hume, Nietchze. read up on Buddhist phiosophy because it tends to agree with science, inadvertantly. It's a boring-ass read, but "the history of god" by Karen Armstrong litterally outlines where and how monotheism, and therefore the judeo-christian god came from. read Michel Foucault, he wrote on the history and developement of punishement and stuff like that, so you can see how we evolved to believe in authoritarian figures, like God.
