This is just my personal top 10 list and you could innerchange some at any time. It's surely not 100% full proof and I could change a lot of it and would still look reasonable but off the top of my head I'd go..

1. DeNiro
2. Brando
3. Daniel Day-Lewis
4. Newman
5. Nicholson
6. Hanks
7. Jimmy Stewart
8. Duvall
9. Oldman
10. William Hurt

Runner ups
1.Robert Duvall
2.Tom Hanks
3.Robert DeNiro
4.Al Pacino

This list for best actor is surely some form of sick humour that I don't get right? Apart from Newman no one on that list is top 50 let alone top 5.

1 - Paul Newman
2 - Robert De Niro
3 - Al Pacino
4 - Spencer Tracey
5 - Jimmy Stewart
6 - Marlon Brando
7 - Alec Guiness
8 - Jack Nicholson
9 - Dustin Hoffman
10 - Harvey Keitel

The first one was merely decent and I thought Walken was good, not great. Even if he was, the first film of a terrible franchise isn't enough to land you in the group of best actors of all time. Robert Englund was great in Nightmare on Elm Street. Surely, he's not one of the best actors of all time. I'd be the first one to admit if Walken took more leading roles and better scripts he could have been one of the best. His performance in Deer Hunter is one of the best supporting performances I know of.

That 100 best actor list is just typical stuff with laughable choices. Pitt 13, Bale 25, Depp 4, Will Smith 15????? You can tell a younger generation had a fair share of the votes. Can someone really look me in the eye and tell me Will Smith is a more pure actor than Day-Lewis? Ledger at 26. Yeah that's done. And again, I like all of those actors, especially Pitt, very underrated but that list overrates him.

Extremely talented? C'mon now. What groundbreaking shit has he done? His 3 most acclaimed roles are that of Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend, and just recently Seven Pounds. All of which he gives the exact same performance in all of them with his blank expressions and random shouts of "NAOOOOOO!" The only performance he's ever had that, barring his comedies, that aren't related to those 3 films was in Ali, which he was good....fair enough, but extremely talented?

As for Ledger...well, to me his performances in Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight, and The Patriot are immensely more impressive than anything Will Smith has ever done and probably ever will do. Not only is he fantastic in all 3 of those films but they are all vastly different from one another while Will Smith plays on the same shit. Ledger could have been one of the greats and for sure in the top 30 but unfortunately he didn't have a chance to do so. Still, I wouldn't rank him 26 of all time.

Will smith is a great movie star. There is pretty much no-one as bankable as him at the moment. That is the prblem with him. When you go to see one of his films, even the serious un moustached ones, you never forget you are watching "A Will Smith Film".

You may prefer watching him but that doesn't make him a better actor, it makes him a better Star.
