Your favorite Quentin Tarantino character

In honor of Tarantino's newly released film, Inglourious Basterds...BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR....here's a list of worthy contenders I believe to be Tarantino's best characters he's written for the screen.

Drexl was close to being on the poll, but I figure not as many people saw True Romance. Plus he's on screen for about 2 minutes.

The shear impact of Gary Oldman as a dreadlocked pimp was classic.

"He must have thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?"

Almost as good a Jimmie Dimmick's

"Did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said Dead N*gger Storage?"

IMO Tarrantino's best writing are the cameos.

Captain Koons

"The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any slopes gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you."

He's just a great writer, period. Actually, great is an understatement, brilliant. One of the best in film for sure. Walken's appearence in True Romance was also another brilliant cameo. His scene with Hopper is legendary.

I'm really looking forward to Machete; Cheech, Steven Segal, Danny Trejo, Don Johnson, Robert De Niro and Jessica Alba. How can you go wrong with that cast?

Funny how Segal is such a perfect fit for a QT flick. He's so over the top to begin with that it's kismit.

Man i hate this poll...... only cause there are sooooo many awesome characters, so im abstaining, and just gonna throw out another one. Butch! i mean c'mon he agree's to throw a fight with huge money on it, then kills the guy in the ring and makes a run for it and ends up saving the guy trying to kill him BY SLICING A DUDE WITH A KATANA SWORD!!!! total uber awesomeness to the power of sick!

i dunno thats just my opinion.

Butch is a good one, I kind of forgot about him. I was trying to get atleast one character from each screenplay of his. I decided to leave out Natural Born Killers since I know Tarantino loathes what Oliver Stone did to it. I guess I could have put an "other" option, but I don't know...16 characters just looks too snazzy for an other option.

I think once people see Inglourious Basterds (and I highly recommend it) their options will widen because there is talk already of Aldo Raine being one of Tarantino's best...such a great character. I think they'll like Hans Landa because it's probably the best performance of the year so far and the character is just so brilliantly portrayed. Just a tidbit, the opening scene of Inglourious Basterds is one of the better scenes imo because of Christoph Waltz.
