Yea I read the first 2 Left Behinds when I was in high school. I had no idea there was 12 now jeez... personally I am not a religious guy myself. At least not an already established religion. I have my own thoughts and ideas and POVs which is all any Christian has. Nobody has facts, everyone just has stories passed down over a period of AT LEAST 2000 years. The Bible has been rewritten so many times over history that it is completely ignorant to believe any of it. Back when everyone believed in multiple gods, they had all of their 'scriptures' written on stone and other permanent means. Their stories were never changed, what we know about their religions, the Mayans, the Egyptians, the Greeks, they are all exactly how they originally wrote it. No power-hungry conceited guy named King James rewrote any of their shit. So if I'm gonna believe anything it's gonna be from something that was not rewritten a million times to suit the King's life. My religion is based on information I personally believe to be true. I believe there is a god, maybe not a holy white bearded man, but something created us, and whatever that something is, is my God. I refuse to believe that if I don't believe the Bible, that I will pay for it in my afterlife. That kind of thinking is absolutely ridiculous. If God wants me to believe in him under a certain denomination of followers and worshippers, then he will come to me and tell me. It makes no sense for me to spend my life guessing and hoping I'm right. I could die anyday, so how is it fair to punish and torture me for eternity just because I thought the Christians were full of it? How do I know the Qaran isn't the true word of God? I don't. For all I know the Muslims are 100% correct in everything they know and do and we are all completely wrong. I do, however, believe that the Bible, particularly the New Testament, is a fantastic source for all of humanity to base their life on. I have no problem with people who are Christians. I believe everyone should HAVE to read the New Testament sometime in their life. I think it is a great way to get an idea of how I think everyone should live their life. The Bible is a great guideline for how to live a good life. But that's it, just a guideline. But if you are wondering, I said I have no problem with Christians for the most part, but the ones who take the Bible literally I do have a problem with. I don't have a problem with people who live their life the way they think their God wants them too. Unless they are Islamic hehe. I have no problem with people who have a religion or have faith, but I do think people should be more open minded and not think that it's 'their way or the highway'. If people need to have faith in God in order to feel secure and comfortable with their lives (in other words as a crutch) then I have no problem with that. By all means pray away if that's what makes you feel not empty or meaningless. A lot of people say religion is the base of most violence and social problems. That is true, but at the same time think about a world with no religion. Which would you rather have?
