Merry Christmas to everyone on this forum, even if you are not Christian.

do you mean merry christmas as in "merry day that jesus was born" or "merry winter celebration in general"?

if it has even the slightest hint of jesus, then it is a religiously intended comment, and therefore insensitive. if it is meant secularly, then the christian holiday called Christmas doesn't really exist anymore!

and technically, wishing someone else a merry holday that they don't celebrate is insensitive no matter what. say happy holidays... if you really believe in integration and pluralism, then there's no problem.

either it's intended religiously or not. if not, then the holiday has no meaning!

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

Merry winter

Wish that actually meant something to me, We are in winter down here in Louisiana but it is 80 degrees outside. Also, they turned off our air conditioning in the residence halls, it's hot as sticky nutsack in my dorm room.....

The hard work of one, does more than the prayers of millions.

The category in which I fall in
It could be easier to say happy holidays but, again, my aim when saying Merry Christmas was never a spiritual one.

then why say it? why not say happy kwanza or happy chanukah? that's my point entirely. Christmas, as intended, is a Christian holiday. no matter the secularization and corporatization of the holiday today, it is still a Christian holiday. jews don't have Christmas mass on December 25th, right?

so it isn't just simply a blanket greeting or well-wishing for the winter... it IS a religiously conotated phrase.
