I watch quite a few "Indie" movies and stuff.
Donnie Darko: Fairly popular movie, but I still knwo people who are like "WTF is that?" Easily my favorite movie of all time.
Jarhead: I saw that movie in theaters and I heard people coming out going "OMFG THAT MOVIE SUCKED." Movie was great, sorry you're too much of an idiot to get it and went to the movie "to see awsum asplooshuns!!!1"
American Zombie: Awesome mockmentary about the Zombie subculture and people living as zombies in everyday life (in the movie, they're real people). ******* hilarious and awesomely done.
Oldboy/Sympothy for Lady/Mr. Vengance: All three fo these movies are a "trilogy" that don't tie directly together, but have common themes. Oldboy has some of the best fight scenes ever put to film (they're realistic fight scenes, dude's get tired and the main guy isn't always like "LOLKUNGFUPWN!"), sympathy for Lady Vengeance is one of the most visually and aesthetically pleasing films I've had the pleasure to watch. The colors and tones of the movie are absolutely gorgeous and it's all implemented extremely well. Sympathy for MR. Vengeance is on par wiht both of them and is a great mixture of the two, witch possibly the best dialog of the three.
Side Note: Steven Spielberg and Will Smith are remaking Oldboy. It's going to blow. I'm sure Steven will either lose the theme or butcher the movie making it "more accessible" to the American Public.
EDIT: Oh an Quarantine. I watched it the other day on netflix and it completely surprised me by how good it was. it looks like a run of the mill thriller/horror movie but it was done WAY better than I thought it would be.
and Joshua, Sunshine is an awesome movie. I loved that movie, so sad that it didn't get the praise it deserves
