Yeah, I was actually quite disturbed by that movie as well...

Thanks to Toxic for the Awesome Sig!

Alone in the Dark - Easily the worst horror movie ever (except, maybe, One Missed Call).

I tried to watch the original "Last House on the Left" when I was much younger, and I wasn't able to finish the movie. Recently I watched the unrated remake, and I regret it. Some scenes in the movie were far too realistic and sadistic.

I am a horror movie fan, but I am not someone who enjoys watching humans behaving sadistically towards other humans. To me these are just torture movies. I enjoy horror movies because I know that they are not reality. What scares me is the unknown, ghosts, monsters, zombies, things that are of a religious nature such as in the Omen movies, viruses like in Quarantine, aliens...things that are mostly based in fantasy.

I already know that the human monster is real. Movies like The Last House on the Left, Saw, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; The Beginning (which was the most sadistic, violent movie that I have ever seen) are not what I enjoy. They don't scare me so much as they make me sick to my stomach.

Thats funny, i can watch any gore fest movie but you will see me hiding under a blanket like a biotch if you put the exorcist on. I watched that movie once and that was enough for me. Terryfing stuff.

last house on the left isn't a gore fest. I can handle gore, I've seen pretty much every Troma movie ever made.

But Last house on the left is mostly ****, humiliation, and torture. they actually force one girl to piss herself then **** and murder her. That I have trouble with. I don't find it scary even, just... wrong.

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

I was using gore fest as a blanket term to include most disturbing things. I find the original last house on the left to be such an interesting movie because of what it was in the time it was made. I cant even imagine how this film was recieved when it first came out. Pretty disturbing flick, but i admire things that are ahead of there time, like Devo...Well, maybe devo isnt a great example, but i think you can get my drift.

Damn. I knew I avoided that movie for a reason. I don't enjoy torture porn.

HOW did I forget Silence of the Lambs??

Dont take this the wrong way, not meant to be insulting or condecending, but how did you feel about the Passion of the Christ?

oh please, no. Please, please, don't let the thread go this way.

Alone in the Dark did indeed suck ass. I posted in the "Review the movie above you" thread that it sucked so bad my husband and I put a sticky note on it to that effect.

I saw a movie on Sci-Fi, not sure if it was a sci-fi original or not, called Route 666 that was pretty freakin scary, IMO.
