Had my first BJJ comp today.

Ive been training about 10 months, worked really hard the last couple of weeks dropped a few pounds to get in a good weight class. Waited for around five hours for my match, got subed with a flying armbar within 20 seconds.

Im fuking sickened!but shit happens.

Anyone have some similar tales of disappointment?

Well if it was a flying armbar in 20 seconds, and you had been training for ten months, then that guys must have been really good. Don't get yourself down a bout it, bro.

It sounds like a classic case of sand bagging. I've never seen a white belt do a flying arm bar. As a 10 month white belt you should have destroyed people. I also know that some people train for years and never test for a belt. He may compete in an advanced division NO-GI.

Hey, at least you got subbed by probably one of the coolest moves in BJJ. Long as you don't stop training because of this, I say it's a winful ******* story!

Seriously, if you're gonna lose at least it was to something cool.

I'll probably do my first BJJ tourney sometimes this year or next. And I'll probably have a story similar to yours.

Yeah I trained for 16 years...really started training hard for the 5-6 before that. Had my first live action at the age of 16 and lasted only 20 seconds as well. I was all over the place and nowhere all at the same time.

My sport was sex. And luckily I got much better...you probably will too in the sport of BJJ.

Doesn't everyone lose their first. My friend got owned by an arm triangle from the bottom! Although the guy did flip him over to finish it off.

I happen to have the video
