I'm a Pushover

A lot of us work hard, physically and/or mentally, to be the way we are, but there's always that crack in the armor that makes us human.

I got thinking about this when my daughter asked with a few hours' notice if she could have a little friend sleep over (tomorrow being a holiday in the US). At first I said no, then I told her whichever one of her two least annoying friends could come over. Now there's going to be giggling and thumping and squealing until the small hours, and all the ice cream will get ate.

I am also the biggest mark for any animal. My own dog is spoiled rotten, fortunately he came to us well behaved and I don't have to do a lot of correcting. He's smart enough to know that me and L&M will allow him to jump right up in our laps, but not the kids. He is constantly getting hugged or petted or tearing around the house because somebody said "I'm going to GET YOU!!!"

He also has a raincoat.

No raincoat, but this is a halloween costume.

If anyone beeps me I feel all affronted and have to explain to my wife why it isn't my fault and I haven't done anything wrong.

That's part of being the awesome parent, Swp, isn't it? Bet your girls love ya for it, always ask you before dad... or, at least after they are through that rebellious phase that girls go through 15 - 17 they will again? (oh i bet you're lookin forward to that)

by the way... November 11th is Rememberance Day, in Canada. So you can somberly celebrate x2. haha

For my part, it's about equality. I grew up in a neighborhood where whites were a minority. I Had absolutely no concept of racism or bigotry until i moved to Edmonton (Canada's redneck central) at 16. I give zero latitude for racist or bigoted points of view, or those who would otherwise veil their opinions with thinly contrived arguments for the later or overcompensations and/or accusations for the same. Black, white, brown, yellow, red, almond, gay, transgender, or otherwise.

Hence my Bob Marley sleeve on my right arm and 'Peace, Unity, Justice and Freedom' on my left.

Any post mentioning dog wearing clothing = WIN!

But anyway, you didn't sound like a pushover, you shounded like a fairing, loving parent. And since I has a kitten for about a week now, I'm in the position to make that judgement.....

If you saw me shopping with them Corn, you'd think I was a pushover, but you are kind to say I'm a fair and loving parent. I mean, I bring makeup home to them, for God's sake.

Can you also tell them that next time they're screaming at me because I won't do something they want?

IDK if I'm the awesome parent. There are some things they know L&M is a pushover for, or will agree to because he doesn't have to do it, or has no idea what is involved.

I definitely have sweeter dance moves, however.
