Speaking of belts, lately I have this overwhelming fascination of achieveing a belt in a martial art. I'm thinking Judo... Only because it's impossible to find a traditional BJJ school here, everything is nogi now.

I never could get into that remake, but some parts were neat.

Good luck on hopefully getting tested In bjj it goes white blue purple brown black. Is green like an intermediary from purple to brown? I was gifted the rank of purple belt in October 2010 but I honestly still feel I'm at least a year away from deserving brown belt, but it's more of a distance than a time. The distance between myself and white belt is the distance
from me to black, that occasionally intimidates me xD

I'd recommend nogi. The reason is that you aren't going to be wearing a gi if you have to defend yourself on the street. With a gi on you are more dangerous it opens up new holds, submissions and throws. It essentially is handle bars on an opponent xD and it means you can choke someone easily with one arm. But to me nogi is better for actual use. Lots of respect for judo, I've been thrown and tripped before and its legit.

Truth quotes y'all. For street defense no-gi is definitely far superior to gi.

However as a hobbyist/fitness user. Gi is just as good. And for fitness actually better (IMO).

2nd the recommendation on the newest one. Apart from a lackluster end, the rest of it is pretty good. It prompted me to go back and reread a few things about Koko, the signing gorilla in California who turned 40 last month, which were fascinating.

Waiting to hear back from my judo sensei re: whether or not I will be testing for my green belt next month.
The film on Koko is great BTW

I'm happy that they did right by the Apes in this last film, the original franchise really fell apart after the first film. As for Burton's film, while it was visually appealing and a step up from the poor sequels the storyline really wasn't cohesive enough.

So World War Z is coming out next Christmas, the book was amazing, has massive amounts of fans for it's original and provocative way of handling the Zombies (in flashback anthology style). So what is Hollywood doing to this pulp treasure....

http://screenrant.com/world-war-z-mo...27543/?_r=true

Turning it into a Curious Case of Benjamin Button type crap hole with a UN worker (Brad Pitt) going across the world to help stop and contain the Zombie menace.

Green is an intermediate belt. Judo belt ranks go white, yellow, orange, green, brown, (2nd and first degree brown), black.

You don't wear a gi on the street, but you will likely be wearing a fairly heavy shirt or jacket, or at least pants, some of the time. Gi grappling *is* hot as all get out, especially for those of us that have to wear a shirt underneath, but it's so much fun I don't mind.

If this blocker plays any part in blocking the consuming of pizza then I want no part of it!

Luckily it does not block you actual consumption of pizza, it just blocks annoying commercials for pizzas only available in the US :P

My daily pizza-intake has not taken a blow (Though "daily" would be a strong word, "monthly" seems more appropriate)
