So, I never really thought an external DAC would do much of a difference. But seriously, the FiiO E10 just makes awesome sound quality a 100x better with the Denon D2000's.
While I am sitting here, listening to my new headphones and my new DAC, I realize that all in all I own headphone gear and DAPs including DACs and Amps for somewhere around $1000. I don't regret any of it.
I now have headphones for most occasions.
At the computer: Denon D2000
At the laptop at school: Audio-technica M50
On the subway: Klipsch S4 or HifiMan RE-262 (might sell these and buy Triple.fi 10)
For gaming: Cal! (same as Denon D1001)
Music has *never* sounded this beautiful, and I don't disturb anyone. Some might say that no headphones can beat good speakers, but I'm saying that my rig comes pretty damn close and that it beats most "cheap" speakers in terms of quality and "entertaining experiences". The Denons with a dedicated DAC is pretty much eargasm. Wondering how long it'll take before I get struck by upgraditis again and buy the D5ks, or mod my D2ks with woodies.
Woodied D2000, so sexy...
