When people say books are better than films, I want to punch them in the intestines. What a farce of a statement.

I have to deal with this "MMA is a sport, you cant use it in a real fight" nonsense all the time in martial arts. It's like the instructors don't realize that this athlete who is also a black belt in multiple disciplines is also capable of grabbing my balls if he wants to.

The Kindle is the best e-reader on the market, thousands of books in your pocket, don't be jelly.

It really depends on what you're looking for. Movies based on books take many many hours of content and push them into 2 hours, so when you watch the movie you miss out on a ton of details and even whole characters/scenes. Movies aren't "worse", they are simply far less detailed/have a lot of the original content cut out of it.

I enjoy both but if I had an option I'd read the book over watching the movie, just because I like having the whole story instead of parts of it.

So, in short... movies are better than films.

I wasn't aware that an 'e-reader' was a thing.

I'm looking for something that is visual and not given to me in words.

Books are all like "Hey, pay for me and them make up half the story in your head with your imagination". ZzZzZz.

Being a computer game geek, movies are even losing their touch now.

Of course it is silly billy, it has been a "thing" for years now and makes up a large portion of amazon's (and competing companies) hardware revenue.

Reading does take some imagination and concentration to follow, that's for sure. It is certainly not an instant gratification hobby, have to have patience (although I know people who read like 4 books a week, crazy).

Games are fun as well.

I don't even....I own probably close to 1,000 books, I can't even begin to understand this, but to each his own I guess.

Edit: The 1,000 doesn't include graphic novels.

I'm the kind of guy that gets annoyed when people tell me what their apps can do, so I have no idea of this popular technology shit. I don't have massive technological needs, so when a new version or update comes out, I'd always be like "Why do I need a new one?"
