Waiting for "The Wolf Of Wall Street."
It clearly was trying to have overtones and be satiric it just fails because it felt like it was by accident. So any comment it makes on class warfare or society/race are lost because it never makes a point. I kept waiting for something to bring that out and be like see that was on purpose but it just felt really ham handed and fumbled. There is clearly a message attempted but everyone is too cliched and changing their minds so much it feels lost. There was no sense of time or reason to believe the flips or hell even a reason for them. I wanted it to be handled far better and the worst part is I don't think it would have taken much more work to do it.
Not a DiCaprio fan tbh. All his movies are good but I find his stuff highly overrated. The departed and inception were not nearly deserving of the over the top praise they recieved, good films of course but this idea that they belong on any greatest ever lists is asinine. His best film was almost twenty years ago. And the reason his more recent movies get attention is because they fit the brooding hipster/jaded mentality of the average person now. No one can be a hero they have to be an anti hero or villain everything has to be dark and gritty. Also he's competing with damn near nothing. Hes the only person not in sequels and remakes exclusively.
