Nah, I already knew he wouldn't win cause the last vote on the game is a popularity contest, not who actually deserves to win. He completely controlled the game and was the best survivor back to back in both seasons, but at the end of it, no one liked him, so he didn't get any votes.
Survivor winners are generally who is the most popular, not who deserves to win the game.
In fact, America did a vote on "who is the best player of Survivor this season" and Russell won, on the Survivor reunion show.
He should have won, but.. that's not how the voting goes at the end.
