I don't like watching him because of his complete disregard for life.

If you are starving and really hungry and really need to eat something, then killing an animal to eat it is the right thing to do, you have to survive. However, this guy kills animals throughout his show and eats them, when he's not even hungry. He has an entire crew with him, they have food, they have water, they have everything they need.

A good portion of the show is him killing and eating animal that he doesn't need to kill so he can eat them in a disgusting manner because doing disgusting things = higher ratings.

It is extremely sad and it's what sadistic, pathetic human beings do (he bit a snake in half and ate it alive for higher ratings, that's what 9 year old kids who have psychotic episodes do).

You can certainly look at it that way M.C.

But can you imagine how I stumbled across this guy yesterday?? I will tell you.. I read an aritcle about a 14 year old kid on yahoo, wich said that he only survived because of the TV Show he always liked to watch, namely Man vs. Wild from Bear Grylls.

The article mentioned, that the boy was able to built himself an igloo on top of a ski mountain and left behind ski marks in the snow, so that the rescue team was able to find there way to his igloo. It took 14 long hours until the rescue team finally found the boy sitting in his little igloo built by himself, thanks to the knowledge of Bear Grylls and his TV Show.

The boy survived the entire night alone on this mountain and only suffered little frostbite's on his body. Without the knowledge on how to built an igloo the right way and how to get attention to his place.. the little boy would have died due to death from exposure.

There are definitely a lot of nasty, nasty things in the show. But without him doing all this, nobody would know how to fish or how to kill this particular animal, if you really someday would find yourself in a life or death situation.

Also, millions of people out there do and are allowed to do hunting in the woods. They kill and they eat!

I think it shows the true human life on how desperate and horrible it can be. Just like it was back then and how it still is today on so many poor parts of this world.

Its an entertaining show but I agree with most of what you said.

Its almost like a wildlife/nature version of MTV's Jackass with all the dumb unnecessary stuff just for shock value.

There's the episode where he scoops up elephant poop from the ground and squeezes the juices into his mouth. He says its a great source of water if you're stranded on a desert.

#1 I wouldn't do it even if I was stranded.
#2 He wasn't even stranded so doing it ffs was just plain gross...but anything for ratings!

Do any of you listen to the Ellis show on faction (sirius radio)? I'm an addict. That's all for now.

But with exactly that, he shows us that you can really put these kinda things in your mouth and really eat it.

Most of the stuff he eats in the show, is among terrifying!
Nobody even knows, that you actually can eat this stuff.
I would think I would be getting terribly ill just by eating it.

Also another great example is when he goes fishing Piranha's. I mean who in the world would come to this idea? It's crazy just to jump in a water with these fishes.

This right there is education in my eyes on so many different levels. It's just incredible to me!

look at this episode alone..

That would be the show Wildboyz which is actually hilarious and makes a big deal about not hurting animals. That show served to get a lot of young people interested in animal life around the world

Chasing herds of animals while wearing nothing but belts, nothing bad can come from it!

BTW Bobby, those pirahnas, I've bred them (in captivity of course) and they're really not that crazy. It's a pretty boring fish to be honest, get some Malawi Cichlids in a tank and you'll get some action!

Exactly. 90% of the things he does, he doesn't need to do, not only that but a lot of the things he does no one would do anyways.

Because he bites a snake in half and eats it alive, he shows people how to hunt for snakes? Because he takes a stick, throws it, and kills a scared rabbit as it runs for its life, then he skins it and cooks it like anyone else in the world would, he is teaching the world how to hunt and cook rabbit? How much sense does it take to know to hit a rabbit in the head in order to kill it?

He kills these animals in brutal ways and eats them in more disgusting ways for ratings and ratings only. He's not teaching the world anything by doing this, not a single, tiny little thing.

If he wants to go around showing people how to survive in the wild, then that's okay, in fact it's entertaining, but why kill a bunch of animals that he doesn't even need to kill, simply cause it gives higher ratings?

It's sadistic and pathetic.

yeah i don't like unnecessary death of animals either, i doesn't really take that much brains to kill an animal thats why cavemen knew how to do it and they were retarded.
