Equal Opportunity not a good thing sometimes

I don't have a link because I heard the report on the radio.

In Italy, because of the Equal Employment Opportunity initiative they are now giving out braille applications to those that want to apply for a air traffic controller job.

*Note to self: do not fly over, into, or around Italy.*

1. It was a British Airport.

2. They have that on all job applications, people who are actually blind would not get to the interview stage unless they lied as they are unable to do the job.

What was a British Airport? Are you trying to tell me that the only thing that could be possible is that the British Airport is the only one (in the world) that could have had this policy?

The story was out of Italy, not Britain. And it was for the Air Traffic Controllers, which is regulated and part of government employment, not the airport. So, you are likely wrong about that.

I understand that a blind person would probably never get the job, but why would you even provide applications in braille if that is the case? Sounds like a huge waste of money and time. That is the point of the story.

Go correct someone else

So we don't have to hear the word discrimination again.

Is it possible you've confused 'Scilly' with 'Sicily'?

They more than likely add that to the end of every job advert and forgot to chop it off this one.

The most ridiculous one I have ever heard was a woman who managed to sue her former employers for firing her from working at a morgue.

She had a fear of corpses.

Now this sounds more like Italy :
Quote:
ROME (Reuters) - An Italian court has ruled the government must pay 100,000 euros ($157,700) in damages to a man who was told to retake a driving test because he was homosexual.

When 26 year-old Danilo Giuffrida told doctors he was gay at his medical examination for military service, they passed the information to the transport ministry, who told him he must repeat his driving test or have his license withdrawn due to his "sexual identity disturbance."
Giuffrida agreed to re-take his test, passed it for a second time, but the ministry renewed his license for just one year rather than the usual 10 years because of his homosexuality.

It's a well known fact that gays can't drive. They keep leaning out of windows shouting "woo-hoo!".

As I said, I don't have the link. You can refer to WSB radio 750 am's website if you are that interested.
