Summer Heights High

So this show starts in the U.S. on HBO today and I am damn excited. This show looks funny as hell! What I'm wondering is since it was shown in Australia, do any Aussies have any opinions of the show? Should I be excited for this, or is just crap? On another note, I find it hilarious how uptight U.S. broadcasters are, this is on HBO here and in Australia it was on a public television channel.

Edit: Just checked, it already played in England, also.. so my question is open to you too!

I'm kinda intrigued by the previews for this show so far. I gotta remember to DVR it tonight.

Yeah I watched a bit of it here ages ago and its pretty funny. It was on public TV here, but not really a main commercial channel. It was actually filmed fairly close to my house.

LOL! You honestly don't know how good you got it, the dirtiest shows we have here on a public channel is Wife Swap. You should really appreciate that shows like this are shown for free!

I only started to watch it towards the end, It was pretty funny.

Has the show been adapted for a U.S audience like Kath and Kim? If not, I'd find it hard for American audiences to understand the humour due to a multitude of cultural differences.
Overall I didn't find the show all that funny. It relies too much on the gimmick of the star acting all characters.

I watched the whole season and it is a good show and funny. I don't know how well the humour will translate to American audiences though.

I watched it tonight and thought most of it was pretty funny but a lot of it was just re-enacting high school behavior. The Ja'Mie character was kind of ridiculous, the Jonah character was clearly written by Jonah and Mr. G was amusing. I did pick up a few cultural knocks that don't mean anything here but they register, particularly the racial overtones with the Islander/Asian thing. I think that can be easily related to here just with a local twist. I'm not sure I like it enough to watch it again because the one man/all characters bit is kind of a stretch for a full show. Little Britain though, that show for some reason I do enjoy a bit more. Oh, and the Americanized Office is fantastic, seems to me a show like that needs just the right cast.

Summer Heights High is awesome. Fact.

I honestly thought the show was fantastic...the parts with Mr. G are a bit slower, but it's still funny as hell. The amount of girls that I went to school with that are like Ja'mie (the name basically explains the character), are insane. By the way, Jonah is my idol. Oh one more thing.. British Office >>>> American Office.
