Less invasive options to alter CCR5 could be on the horizon within the next five years, said Levy. "It's definitely the wave of the future," he said. "As we continue to follow this one patient, we will learn a lot."

I think burning fat people would be a better method of population control.
Then I guess you think that people that believe in Global Warming should never ride in a car or heat their house??? It's really not that hard to understand what I'm saying. I know that you're just fishing for something to get me flustered, but I'm willing to bet that you see my side of things more then you truly believe that letting all the dying people get healed is good for the rest of us.

And I agree with the burning of fat people, but that's another thread.

I can see where you are coming from. Keeping young people alive is good from the governments point of view as it can keep them working and paying taxes, but after retirement they are just a drain.

Interesting you mentiond GW, that problem could be eased by chubber fueled power stations.

As much as fat people sweat when they're not on fire, I can't imagine that burning them would be any help to counteracting GW.

But hey, I'll take your side in this one if you can make it happen.

Do you think that we are going to get in trouble if we continue to talk about hating fat people and wanting them to burn mostly for our enjoyment?

I support stim cell research etc etc not here to argue that.

Just wanted to pop in and say that .003% of the worlds population is immune to most strands of HIV. The disease is curable by transplanting bone marrow from people who are immune into those whom have HIV and within months they will be HIV free.

I thought HIV was cured in like 2005-2006?

South Park and Magic Johnson have already proved that a large injection of money is the cure for aids.

Wile promising, the treatment is unlikely to help the vast majority of people infected with HIV, said Dr. Jay Levy, a professor at the University of California San Francisco, who wrote an editorial accompanying the study. A stem cell transplant is too extreme and too dangerous to be used as a routine treatment, he said.

Thats the most important point. There is no antidote against aids. Science failed since aids arrived.

Stem cells are good, it's just the method we use to put them to use that is dangerous still. In time we will find safer ways to do the procedures.

But back to the topic, death is a part of life that I understand. It's needed for the world as we know it to exist.

I'm not saying that we should release killer diseases or anything like that, but we have to allow a lot of them to run their course.

Population growth is a good thing as long as it's kept in check, if anything grows to fast, it's bad for the long term outlook.

I sort of agree with a combination of these posts. I think disease and cancers and whatnot are essential to keeping the population at a reasonable rate, but at the same time I don't think people with Leukemia and such should be allowed to die. I think like XitUp is implying, maybe not exactly what he's saying. But let the people die who bring it upon themselves, like smokers (I'm a smoker), and fat ****s who get heart disease from the food they CHOOSE to eat. Focus on saving the people who didn't see their illnesses coming, and had no way of preventing it.
