WTF? You're telling me cigarettes are dangerous?!?!?!

What a lie, i dont recon they hinder your health, i've smoked em all my life and i aint dead yet. Nest thing ur gonna tell me is that they're addictive, jesus isnt real and we have a black president. Some ppls will believe anything, this article is clearly wrong.

Don't worry children, cigarettes are safe, smoke up

God people are so stupid.
Thats why I only buy the packs with the warning to the pregnant woman that way I am in the clear from all side effects.

I know how addiction generally works. I was just saying it's stupid to get to the point where your body needs it. If it doesn't even feel good and is proven to be terribly unhealthy, I don't see the point.
normally i smoke when ive been drinking which isnt often but when i do it puts me over the top for a little bit. I love it.

I'm not hating on people who smoke. I used to smoke a little bit, but quit. I know a ton of people who smoke, and I have no problem with it. It just gets me when people sue over something they caused. Its like, do you penalize the guy who sold the murderer the gun? Even if its a legal sale, and it has a permit?

FAO of peopel still bitching about the McDonalds lawsuit - http://lawandhelp.com/q298-2.htm

If this guy started smoking back in the days when the tobacco companies were supressing the evidence that smoking can lead to nasty shit like cancer and heart disease then **** 'em. Anyone who started smoking after that information was widely available deserves what they get.

I take it your efforts to quit aren't going that well.

Hah, actually not too bad, I've been off them 99% of the time, but last night I fell off the wagon Gave 16 of the pack to a homeless guy and am recommitted, but ****, I could be off them 20 years, I'll still think smoking is cool. Everyone cool smokes, Writers, actors, musicians...even Obama. Smoking is badass.

Don't tell me you can't quit. My dad smoked for 15 years, and went cold turkey when I was 12. Hasn't touched a cigarette since. Yes, it does take some will power, but there are plenty of products out there to help quit.

This guy obviously didn't care too much, he smoked right through Chemo, so why should the courts care? If your not going to take care of your body, your greatest asset, then that is your fault.

Edit: To add, I like pot a lot more than cigs. I feel so much calmer on weed than cigs. I wouldn't say its a bigger waste of money than cigs. Especially with the tax on cigs now a days.

Ultimately it doesn't matter though. This shit will instantly get appealed and go to the supreme court. Where common sense will be in order and they will probably settle out of court.
You realise Nicotine is addictive, right? So logically, if you are sold a product that is highly addictive, while the supplier of this product does not reveal and in some cases outright lies and conceals the negative health effects of said product, you should be entitled to some damn compensation. Thats common sense.

Well, you're in Ireland, right? I can't imagine Irish weed being that good. California weed is where it's at.

Also, you bite your tongue. Being high on weed is awesome. Everything you experience while blazed is 10 times better than it would be normally.

I seriously don't think weed is as big a waste of money as cigs, considering the fact that taxes in the US make cigs overpriced as shit, and I can get an ounce of strong weed for $200.
It's awful in Ireland.

But still, the best I remember it ever being was like a crappy mushy trip toned down a thousand percent. If I want to chilll, a few beers costs less.

As much as I love smoking as it is pretty much my only vice I will be joining you on the quitting wagon soon. I am on my last pouch of tobacco and then will be quitting so that I am not smoking when my wife gives birth in May.

I do realize that Nicotine is addictive. However you realize this right?

* Caution: Cigarette Smoking May be Hazardous to Your Health (1966-1970)
* Warning: The Surgeon General Has Determined that Cigarette Smoking is Dangerous to Your Health (1970-1985)
* SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Smoking Causes Lung Cancer, Heart Disease, Emphysema, And May Complicate Pregnancy. (1985-)
* SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Quitting Smoking Now Greatly Reduces Serious Risks to Your Health. (1985-)
* SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Smoking By Pregnant Women May Result in Fetal Injury, Premature Birth, And Low Birth Weight. (1985-)
* SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Cigarette Smoke Contains Carbon Monoxide. (1985-)

1966 was the first warning on the package. The guy was 55 and died in 1997. Meaning he was born in 1942. He heavily smoked for 40 years. Meaning he started when he was 15. So he did not know about the warning for 9 years. NOT 20. Which means he claims ignorance for 31 years. He was addicted, but there was a warning label on the box. He had 31 years to quit. However he didn't. I know plenty of people who have quit after smoking WAY longer than that (9 years).

So, if you want. You can reward him for the first 9 years that he smoked, because there was no label. However there was a caution on the side after that, so ignorance cannot be claimed.
