Good to know, but I doubt that guy sees most of his $5 million dollar award. In other words, another judge will lessen the award.

That's it? What would that guy have earned in 18 years outside? Why should the taxpayers have to pay for the mistakes of 12 people, a bad attorney, and/or a bad judge?

Look I feel bad for the guy losing his wife and then getting charged for the crimes against her, I really do, but I don't think he suffered more because of being in prison then he did from losing his wife (unless of course he didn't love her).

He got just about 40 grand a year from the state, that is more then most gov't workers make including potentially the ADA that prosecuted him.

After all that time I imagine it would be hard to function in society, especially if you have to do it alone. There should be a lifetime monthly check to cover cost of living at minimum for these people. But I think he forgave her because after 11 years in prison your just so happy to be out. I dont think much good would come out of hating the person who accused him. He'll probobly have some kinds of news or something always reminding him and interviewing him. Might as well make the best of it.

http://hi-caliber.blogspot.com/2008/...victed-as.html I was a little off on the story I just remembered it off the top of my head but heres what happened, he went to Prison as a babykiller and thats not a good thing to be in prison for, youd be a mark for every inmate.

I think in this case, it's safe to say 700k is a miniscule amount of compensation for not only work, but you know, his freedom...Taxpayers pay for many other costs associated with our system, what's some extra coin to help out a guy that our system royally screwed over?
