It looked to me like Bear is the presenter of things and the real survival expert is behind the camera planning stuff while Bear does what others should do if they were in that situation and want to stay alive.. he just shows that in couple of minutes probably tapes it in couple of hours or days and then they are off to the closest minibar around.. they should have made that warning they have now right from the start and people would probably appreciate it more when he eats strange proteins ..

Survivor man is just not entertaining to me. The dude is kinda unlikeable and while im sure he has tons of valuable survival information to share, I can stand to watch his depressing ass for more then a few minutes. Man vs Wild tries to entertain its viewers. Entertainment is why the majority of people watch tv. If I want to learn something I will take a class or read a book. If I want realism ill take my happy ass to the middle of the woods with a swiss army knife. If I had to pick one of these dudes to teach me how to live in terrible situations, id still probably go with Bear, the other dude is just boring to me.

He was getting too old to do that stuff...

WOW WOW WOW ...Les trained Bear?????? I needs a reference on that ...It doesnt change my choice but I might look at Les a little better. I mean Bear at one time was the youngest Brit to summit everest!!
" He is one of the youngest Britons to climb Mount Everest, doing so at age 23. In July 2009, Grylls was appointed the youngest ever Chief Scout at the age of 35."

Edit: He started on the summit of Everest just 18 months after having 3 messed up vertebrea

Thanks to Toxic for the Awesome Sig!

Even if the whole world is against you, one thing will never let you down. That thing is beer.

You better be at the gym, DW!!!

Survivorman is more of a badass, but neither show has ever made me drop everything to go and watch it.

Les Stroud all day long. Bear feels like more of a daredevil then anything to me. Les is as hard as it gets, can't blame him for not being pumped up knowing he's going to eat almost nothing over a 7 day span, make his own shelter and deal with extreme cold in a few episodes.

Bear couldn't hang with Les in the Canadian Arctic for a week id put money on it.
