I've never had a problem with United States Health Care. I've walked into a hospital when I was sick. I've never been denied care and my insurance has always paid for everything. US Health Care isn't nearly as bad as you people make it seem. The whining and stereotyping needs to stop.

Do you currently reside in America?
I am not missing your point, I just do not see its validity. You don't have a right to say no to every law, every tax etc. You have a right to vote and those that are voted in are meant to do what is best for the nation. If you see that a public health system is something that is forced upon you in such a way that it indicates that other things will be forced upon you, then I'd say you are being irational and paranoid.

Since when did the people's vote on such matters decide its fate? That's not how things work.

Whether or not I reside in America is futile, especially if your reason for asking is this idea about your 'right' to say no to taxes.

We have Congress, that represent the public, to vote for us. Fortunately, the health care bill has been shot down thus far.

In your country, 'cause it's obvious you don't live in America, you may lay down, but in America, we speak up.

BTW I love this part: “Who knows, maybe he didn't like the bill.”
I hope she came up with that last bit on her own, because it was pretty good.

Heh, Im gonna take exception to the 'lay down' part... hard to fault the Canadian system since we are (for the most part) satisfied.

The fact that this is even coming into debate should send a message that there is a significant amount of people out there who are indeed not satisfied... and they are obviously in the minority.

...I guess its just a Canadian thing, we take care of our own... we look out the for little guy... we care for our sick, take care of our elderly, have safety nets for the poor, we have programs to educated, help the unfortunate and down trodden... through thick and thin we all stick together...somewhat like a family...

...but I guess it can seem somewhat misguided, impractical, unprofitable, from an American point of view

Dont get me wrong, it aint all roses on this side of the border, we got our own issues... but universal health care insurance isnt one of them, IMHO its one of the things we certainly are proud of.

but I guess from an American point of view, you can take pride in the fact you have a choice to NOT help out, that you can opt out of helping your own, that as long as its not directly affecting you, you have the option to turn a blind eye to the sickly in your own backyard.

Well I hope Congress aren't as selfish, inconsiderate and greedy as you, while disguising these traits with a flawed complaint about not having the 'right' to vote against something that benefits the nation.

It doesn't matter what country I'm from, we all have the ability to understand fundamental compassion for other humans, and that's something you're seriously lacking. If you feel not being able to opt out of a tax that provides care for all, then that's your problem.

As if the idea that this removal of your right by way of a health tax means you will be at risk of having other rights removed that are actually worthy of complaint. Absolute flawed madness. The motivation for this is as genuine as I could think of, how does this translate to what you're implying? You might as well complain about any other tax since you pay that and don't have a choice. You better start worrying, those taxes you pay already mean all sorts of crazy sh*t might get'forced' upon you. Worse yet, a public health system might be inflicted upon you poor souls.

I would like to know what you'd be saying if you were the one suffering with no health care, and when a new health system came in millions of people started opting out of the tax, thus wrecking the system.

Wow, just wow.
