it was a complement the same thing happened to me in wrestling. i was a little guy around 119 and a freshmen if i pined some upper class-men they said things like you better than i thought or or stronger than i thought. However personal ly i like it when i am underestimated makes others careless. For instance i was getting picked on by someone in high school and i got tired of it. Many people thought i was weak because i was small however i was a kick-boxer and i kicked his ass and all the people were like. "where the hell did that come from!?" to me it feels so great to prove people wrong then have them tell you that you did which is what happened to you."

Same I've heard this phrase myself many times for the same reasons. I've always been athletic and I've been lifting weights since I was young.

Most of the time its when im clearly superior to someone who expected much less of me.

I agree with most people here. It was more than likely a compliment. I don't think that he was implying anything negative by saying it either. He is bigger so he probably thought that he would just out-muscle you and was surprised when he came to the realization that he couldn't.

I have been told this. Its an easy thing to understand, I dont see how your so baffled by it. Compared to other people your height and weight apparently you heald your ground well. I wear baggy clothes, I slowtch and really dont act tough. But I can raise some hell when it comes to weights or fighting. People dont expect it because I dont look 6ft 175lbs. I come off as 5'9 150lbs probobly. But when it comes down to it people get kinda like where the hell did that strength come from. I think you feel as if he is hitting on you. Well say it back and see what he does. Who knows, Maybe he will buy you a slice of pizza. HA! Homophobia to the max.
