First, if you don't know who Ellie is - he interviews big stars like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Manny Pacquiao etc. on a regular basis. He is the 19th most viewed reporter on Youtube.
Second, the reason I'm writing to him is his recent video about the Anderson Silva incident
Third, I want to share the letter with you guys.
Let me start off my saying that I'm a huge supporter of yours and I usually agree with your opinion. But I completely (and I mean completely) disagree with one of your latest videos about Dana White bashing Silva. Dana White has every right to be mad. And let me explain why.
You have to understand - Anderson Silva could have (and should have) finished Maia in any round. But he didn't. People aren't mad at him for not finishing. People are mad for NOT TRYING to finish. Did you see the flying knee that he landed. It was as precise and as quick as a jab. That's how good he is, yet he hesitates to attack his opponents for the last 2 rounds to the point where the ref has to pull him off and warn him about a point deduction for that.
On top of that - he mocks his opponent like it's a stand up comedy show. He showed more disrespect, than I've ever seen in any fight. Imagine GSP acting like that. Fedor. Machida. Shogun. They would never do that. Nothing Maia has ever said would ever be considered as disrespectful. I believe it was Maia saying that he thinks he can submit Silva. It's ridiculous to act that way because of a statement so humble, in comparison to other pre-fight comments. He is not only disrespecting Maia, he is disrespecting the fans and the sport itself.
I really hope you change your mind, because Dana is a wonderful ambassador, he cares about the sport and the fans. He cared about Silva and Silva just slapped him and every other MMA fan in the face.
Anyways, keep up the great work
Fourth, he replied
THANKS FOR THE NOTE
I CAN SEE YOUR POINT OF VIEW
BUT DANA'S TRACK RECORD FIGHTING WITH -- FEDOR, RAMPGE, TITO, AND MANY OTHER DOES NOT MAKE HIS A CALSS A ROLEMODEL
Fifth, what do you guys think? Was Dana too harsh once again or did Anderson deserve it?
