Ahh Need Computer Help

Ok a person that stays with us got on our computer last night and some how has my computer all jacked up now,

everytime I click a link it searches through 5 different things and never takes me to the link I want now, also my computer is running slow as a joke now,

I tried running my adaware program and my virus protection programs but they are not finding it.

I went through and found a program that was added to our computer last night so I tried uninstalling it which it would not allow me to do even in safe mode

so yeah I am at my wits end...I remember somebody saying that windows backs itself up every so often just in case things like this happen so...does anyone know how I can pull up the back up?

System restore, takes it back to an earlier date, it's the program on control panel under System. Works sometimes for me but if it gets too bad, have had to reformat the whole thing.

Try running malwarebytes antimalware first before you give up. If it has something nasty though you might be better off reformatting...those things can hide and be tough to get off there, plus they jack up programs...good luck

There are usully some very in-depth, technical steps that must be taken to remove this type of virus which infects a system then demands that certain software be purchased to remove that malware.

Some solutions that I have seen involve calling that company and complaning, others involve using a program called "Hijack This". But for the few times that my earlier pcs were infected, the best solution was;

run command prompt

reformat C:/

I finally went to my neighbors house and found out that the virus is just called digital protection virus. I found a few websites that explain how to get rid of it, the only problem i hae to click on links to get the things i need to remove it and the ******* virus ****s up my computer everytime i click on a link and sends me to 50 other websites. I want to seriously punch my computer really hard right now.

I had the virus pop up a black screen saying i had to download crap to save my computer 29 times while i was writing this post (no joke)

i think im going to have to end up doing this for if i dont it is a choice between breaking my computer by throwing it out the window, pulling out all my hair trying to do all these steps they want me to that is impossible to do when my virus is infected ....i am never letting anyone touch my computer again

yeah, M_D, those step by step solutions are very complicated, even if you know exactly what you are doing. Some of the instructions are ambiguously written, and they assume that you have done things like this in the past.

My friend was at my house just last weekend and got a virus on my other pc from looking at a break.com standard gallery. I was there when AVG popped up the notice. We ran scans and such, were not able to locate a virus, but one is clearly there since my homepage and preferred search engine keep changing.

That pc is about to get the old reformat C:/ when I turn it on again.

Ok,

Download Trojan remover, it s afree program..

http://www.simplysup.com/

Run it in safe mode. (Download it on your friends computer and put it on a thumb drive)

After that download Malwarebyte's Antimalware (also free)

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

And run it in safe mode.

If the virus will not let you run .exe files than it may e more trouble than it is worth and you will need to reformat and do a system recovery. I have good luck with this combo on removing viruses from people's computers.

They are more tricky now days and make it where you can't execute files...and usually they block the sites that host these so that you can't download them, thus the need to download it elsewhere.

I hope you were in the habit of backing up your data...
