In regard to the stabbing- they do it over and over.

See those feathery bloody things? Those are barbed lances with which the bull is stabbed to cause it pain and weaken it's shoulder and neck muscles for the final killing blow.
In all reality it doesn't seem like it would be very entertaining to me. Although I think the mentality may be the same as many people who watch nascar just in case of a huge wreck etc. However stabbing it over and over is kind of brutal but I think its just a difference in culture, probably a typical tradition for people in certain countries.

If you're going to be cruel to an animal, then you deserve some sort of retribution. Just a shame it doesn't happen more often; maybe if Matador's were getting gored and badly injured regularly they'd stop practising the 'sport', and I use that word lightly. There is no way it's a legitimate sport.
This is actually what I don't understand. It's just an animal, these are people. Like you or me.

double post~ merger pls >< forgot to just edit and quote

It's the human's fault though. He put himself in that situation, and was cruel to the animal, it's his fault if he gets gored. He should be thankful that he survived. I certainly wouldn't wish death upon matadors, but seeing one getting gored doesn't bother me as much as say someone getting stabbed to death. I personally struggle to have any sympathy for anyone that chooses to be cruel to an animal. There's absolutely no need for it at all. Why would you want to be cruel to an animal? It's disgusting behaviour.

humans can make rational decisions, that is the ONLY thing that separates us from other animals in the first place.

the animal was forced into that situation, and I am very, very happy to see the evil human die Looking at the blood from the bulls stab wounds on his back makes me sick, but seeing guys get gored, pinned, crushed, or impaled, is much more natural and acceptable to me.
