The New Karate Kid

Honestly this movie I thought was gunna be horrible and tarnish the karate kid series more so then the last ones did.

But again I was wrong

It is almost an exact replica of the first movie but they change it up enough so i stayed interested.

Jackie Chan had his first scene where he actually acted and he impressed me (while actually catching me off guard, did not know he could actually act)

Will smiths son did not do his annoying whine like he did in his other movie and all in all did not do too bad in this movie, also will smith did something right cause the boy has allot of different talents which he show cases in the movie.

In the training scenes it seams like they could of used some more Karate Kid style teaching but the almost rocky style training sequence was not bad

all in all I liked it, it was a decent watch

only thing i really felt that was not as good

I love how they call it the karate kid when the movie is centered around kung Fu.

I'm not so sure a 32 year old really qualifies as a kid.

Firstly I personally thought it was terrible. But to each their own.

I hated that it seemed to be a carbon copy of the original, munis everything good about the orginal.

The "Snake" technique that was supposed to take a lifetime to perfect, was perfected by a 12 year old during his what? second attempt? And it was by far the poorest replacement for the Crane technique(which was primo!)I could have ever imagined.

The wirework. Something great about the first one was that it wasn't stupid high flying techniques with all these jazzy flips and whatnot. It was as realistic as you could really get in an 80s movie.

It was called The Karate Kid, but was about Kung Fu, and they had the balls for the kid to yell at his mom for calling Kung Fu Karate! It wasn't ironic, it was just stupid.

Overall, it was likely a mistake to even remake the movie. The original one is still better than many new movies to this day. It seemed to me to be just another rehash to make a quick buck.

Also: on awkward and perverted note, my buddy and I joked that the best part of the movie was the horribly innappropriate dancing of that 13 year old girl! It was more awkward than Jackie Chan putting the kid's head in his lap...awkward

I hate it when they make remakes or sequels to movies without the original cast. I haven't seen the movie yet, so i can't really say anything about the movie. I saw Justin Biebers songs video though.

I've heard this one is good a couple of times. I'll probably check it out when it hits the red box.
