Never watched that Dexter show but whenever i hear the name i think of Dexter's Laboratory.. maybe i should give this newer show (newer then the cartoon)a chance..

Hard to say which is the best.. cause you will get lots of different answers .. Maybe the best show right now is somewhere we have no idea about, like for example in Cambodia India Ghana or something..

Correction.. never watched any of these shows mentioned here cause i hardly watch "TV"(or shows over the net) anymore..

Yon need to watch Dexter. I've only seen the first season and it's great. Hopefully the other seasons arent a let down. And from what I've been told they arent.

Congratulations you won!

Only seen the first season? Dude, netflix that shit..anything. The first season is great, but if you can believe it, it's the weakest. Season 2 and 4 are out of this world.

You're just a cook...

I agree with everything you said about The Wire and the diversities...however, I already made a list of Oz's diversities and they far exceed The Wire. You mention education, crime, society, media, Oz has them all as well..and better.

Okay, I will grant you The Wire had better production values. Big deal, Transformers had better production values then Clerks and Clerks is 8 times the film.

And that's the interesting thing about Oz, it takes place in a prison the entire time, but there are so many side stories and characters that makes for new stories all the time. Sure there's always the plotting against one another and one guy wanting to kill another guy, but EVERY show has repeating themes..every show.

Oz was never lost, in many ways, each season was more intensified then the last..and the last season is simply brilliant..probably the best series finale of any television show.
I have watched both series and as entertaining as OZ is, the realism doesn't compare to the Wire.

My list without putting to much thought into it:

1. Sopranos
2. The Wire
3. Rome
4. Deadwood
5. OZ

I thought Dexter was the best show on tv then I discovered trailer park boys. This show taught me two things.

1. Canadian tv is better than american.
2. Canadian trailer parks are about the same as American.

The boys are slowly taking over the world. Hard to believe its been almost 10 years since that show started. A show worth checking out.

I've always been a fan of Oz & Sopranos, but there's one show that I started watching last year that IMO is better. BREAKING BAD!!!If you're into great acting, kickass story lines, drugs & gangsters then check out Breaking Bad!!!

I never watched Oz, it was always on after TPB as I was growing up and it always scared me. However, with all of this hype I'm going to watch some this weekend and see if I can be hooked.

I thought about it a little bit and these are the shows that I enjoyed the most over my lifetime.

1. Beast Wars (Pretty funny that in canada it was actually called 'Beasties' to remove the word "war". I know the entire transformers story, and they blew my mind with some tie ins on this show. HANDS DOWN #1 for me.)

2. Seinfeld (No explanation. I'd be amazed if any show is ever watched more than this one)

3. Dexter (Makes me want to secretly kill people. Every single episode I am worried Dexter will be caught or found out. From the first episode to the last.)

4. The Wire (In the first season I was bothered by the farfetch'd-ness of the blatant police brutality etc, but then I realised it's just a tv show. I feel like it only gets good after the first season, but I feel the same way about Seinfeld.)

5. Breaking Bad (Needs more seasons, but this show whas whooping my behind after just every episode, just like Dexter)

I want to note something about Sons of Anarchy, this show could be really, really good. I would even say it IS really good, because I can't wait for the 3rd season. BUT, why do they need to have 8 commercial songs in every single episode? The last 3 mins of every episode they play a different song to wrap up and it makes it extra cheesy. Just had to get that off my chest.
