He should have paid the $75 in advance, but what kind of person decides to just let this guy's home burn down to the ground? The firefighters themselves were probably worried they would lose their jobs, but their boss sure is an asshole.

It really should be that the $75 is like insurance. If you house catches fire and you haven`t been paying your $75 your left with the bill.

Don't wanna sound like an ass, but look at it from the point of view of the firemen. They risk their lives day and night to help people out and the least they could ask for is funding for proper equipment.

No equipment = no firefighting

Think about what the home owner was thinking BEFORE the fire. "**** this I don't gotta pay shit, if something happens these bitches HAVE to help me." He was just being pure selfish.

Even his last comment on the article shows you his mentality. "I thought they'd come out and put it out, even if you hadn't paid your $75, but I was wrong."

He got what he deserved. KARMA

This is a situation where I would be willing to lose my job. I'm not watching a families house burn to the ground over $75.

Same.

I'm a self centered prick with a double dose of apathy, but I'd have tried to put it out regardless.

The guy knew he hadn't paid. He knew he wasn't covered. Should have thrown money at the hose holders but didn't. Either way, if he has house insurance it will cover the cost of the house. Maybe not his belongings but that's his fault.

These are all pictures of whats called a "live burn" where Firefighter's practice on old crack houses or houses that are going to be destroyed....The guy should have paid the money, which he may have, regardless as i stated above we wouldn't sit still and watch a fire......honestly, I'm not sure how any Firefighter could.....and certainly not lose their job over it.....Tennessee is ****ed up I have to pay the NASD to do business or solicit my business in that state then I have to pay the state a tax every year thats seperate......they are a bunch of taxing fools!!!!!
