The case is actually from August, it was overturned before and then re opened. It's seemed suspicious all along, but obviously that doesn't automatically mean it has to be a conspiracy. But it's typical that it would be a **** charge if it was politically motivated, since sex crimes are the worst for PR.

Swedish authorities have withdrawn an arrest warrant for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, stating that the accusation of **** against him was unfounded.

"I don't think there is reason to suspect that he has committed ****," the chief prosecutor, Eva Finne, said.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange no longer faces sex abuse charges in Sweden, after the country's chief prosecutor decided to investigate only one of two complaints against him, and not as a sexual offence.

Assange who has denied both accusations is still suspected of molesting a woman on August 13, but molestation is not a sex crime under Swedish law, said Karin Rosander, a spokeswoman for the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

Sweden's chief prosecutor Eva Finne formally closed another case involving a woman who claimed Assange had raped her. Finne had dismissed the **** charge over the weekend, and recalled a short-lived arrest warrant, before deciding on Wednesday that the case couldn't be prosecuted as any other type of sex crime either.

"The investigation is therefore closed in regard to this complaint since there is no suspicion of a crime," Finne said in a statement.

A senior Swedish prosecutor reopened a **** investigation against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange today, in the latest twist to a puzzling case in which prosecutors of different ranks have overruled each other.

The case was dismissed last week by Eva Finne, chief prosecutor in Stockholm, who overruled a lower-ranked prosecutor and said there was no reason to suspect that Assange, an Australian citizen, had raped a Swedish woman who had reported him to police.
