Unbreakable was good but when I saw it in the theater their was some serious heckling.

There are a few filmakers who I will follow in whatever they do, Boyle, Anderson, Mendes, Aronofsky, Fincher, Scorsese and the Coen's.

I think most of his movies are horrible. In terms of story they are horrible. Excluding of course the 6th sense.

I saw Signs in theater and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There are so many things wrong, or simply stupid about the whole story it boggles the mind.

I really don't get the hype about him, or why he deserves sort of the immediate name recognition if he makes a movie. He has one good movie and some other adequate ones, and nothing really that leaves a mark in cinema.

He is vastly overrated.

I think Signs is a good show and although Lady in the Water was weird I enjoyed it too.

To be honest I hate every single one of his movies except for The Sixth Sense. Probably because it's the first one I saw. He's got this serious problem that he needs this big twist in most of his stories. It was awesome in The Sixth Sense, it didn't work in any of his other movies. In fact I thought it made The Village worse (not that I thought it was very good in the first place, barring Joaquin Phoenix). Unbreakable was okay because of Willis and Jackson, but the story was very unsatisfying. Lady in the Water was different, but I didn't like the acting at all. Especially that Indian looking guy felt really out of his element.

Exactly, it was like making a movie about how Peter Parker got bit by a spider and then he figures out he has new powers... and then the credits roll.

That's always been the theme of Shyamalan's movies! His movies are more about people finding themselves. When they are at their lowest, through divine intervention or otherwise, they are able to find themselves. Which is why I don't think it was bad that Shyamalan made Unbreakable the way he did!

Anyways, I think I found out one of the major problems The Happening suffers from (aside from Killer Plants/Wind). This movie should have had a 9/11 feel to it. I never got that sense of fear and panic from the populace that should have been depicted. People are killing themselves for no reason in the most brutal fashion and the public at large seems very nonchalant about it.

Signs was dumb for one very big reason (no, not Mel Gibson ): that we're supposed to buy an invasion by aliens whose kryptonite is water. Why would you invade a planet that is mostly covered by a substance that is a deadly poison to you?

IDK, maybe they just didn't know! Of course, one does have to ask why the very air we breath didn't kill them the minute they entered the atmosphere, considering it has H20 in it!
