If you don't even know anymore whether you got it in your record you should definitely check that first before you take any other steps.

Definitely look into this before hand.

This needs to be sorted before taking action. If you were not convicted it does not matter. How did it end? Did you do jail time, pay a fine, deported? Look man if im arrested for raping an entire... herd.. group... of kittens but not convicted it means you were not guilty of the crime and you should be fine.

Also.. as rusty said... if you had fines and just left that shit behind.. you're gonna wanna take care of that while you're still in the UK and before you get arrested at the air port.

I didnt do jail time or anything like that but i had to see a drug counciler once just for a talk and that was it, they gave my a charge sheet telling me what i was charged for etc and i had my prints and dna taken. The amount was a 1/4 but there was 5 of us arrested for it.

So you never entered a plea? If not, 4-5 years is a long time for them to prepare a simple possession case. It's possible the case was dropped but it's also possible you were convicted in absentia (or at least you can be over here in many states). It's also possible the drug counselor represented some sort of diversion program so you were never convicted for that reason.

I was only in the police cell for about a hour and they kind of blackmailed me into to saying that the coke was mine, because they said that if i say its mine they would let me go and that i would only have to go see that counselor and that would be it. and the others that were arrested did the same, i think it was so we didnt have to point the finger at whos it was and obvisouly i didnt want to say who the dealer was because that would created even more trouble for me. So we all said it was ours and they gives us our charge sheets and we were on our way, i didnt hear anything else about it after that, other than counselor thing which i was there for about 10-20mins because they knew i wasnt a drug addicted or anything.

It doesn't sound like you were prosecuted and given that you probably don't have a record. I would call a records clerk in your area. You are able to get your own criminal record.

The amount of cocaine that it was is also important, I think. If it was a small amount you will probably get hasseled at customs, but it may not be that you aren't allowed at all. If it was a sizeable amount (i.e., an amount that may make it seem like you were trying to distribute the cocaine) you are probably ****ed.

Yep, sounds like what we'd call a diversion plan over here, which young, non-repeat offenders sometimes get. You complete some arbitrary requirements (usually involving fines, restitution, counseling and the like) and your charge is dropped.

I had something similar happen when I was in highschool and stole some gummy bears from the grocery. Had to pay a fine and go to a class on why shoplifting is bad

I'm thinking you sound like you'll be alright, but I'd do everything I could to find out for sure before I get on the plane

DJ this has turned around a lot

I'd still double check before you go but have fun in florida and don't sweat the cocaine, it happens to the best of us.

@Hex

Gummy bears eh?
