Chimpanzees see sunlight for first time in 30 years

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/animal-...5875-23406312/

Check out these chimps getting freed after 30 years of indoor captivity and being experimented on. Wow.

where they lived for 30 years:-

And now...

( sorry about stoopid music )

I'm completely moved by their reaction and the way they hug each other. I always knew chimps were intelligent, but to see them emotional like this?... wow. Just wow.

Absolutely love chimps. My favourite animal. Would love to have a pet one. Preferably like Cesar (on rise of the planet of the apes) for those who have seen it.

I'm not going to lie. That initial reaction from the chimps got me a little emotional. That is some incredible footage right there. They are so human like in their reaction it's unreal.

Wasn't this just supposed to be a promotion for the new planet of the apes movie? Either that or its just a ridiculous coincidence that chimps have been in the news a lot recently.

As nice as it is, how are people not outraged that they were locked up for 30 years in the first place?

Well... if you read the piece, you'll see that the guy who got them freed campaigned for 14 years to get there! It is outrageous, but if people don't know about it, what can be done. I dread to think how many other labs like this exist in Europe and around the world.

But yea... I agree. Its one of the most bitter-sweet news stories I've ever heard.
