That being said I've only been to London once, and it's mental!
Also, like someone above said, lots of English speaking foreigners there too.

I'm in the same boat but hopefully leaving. Slugged it out in a crappy job for two long, find out shortly if I scored a job in Gibraltar on double the salary higher up in the company

Exciting times just thinking about it, must be twice that knowing it's happening.

Good luck!
At the end of the day everyone wants the same thing: to live a better life, right?

I know there are a lot of foreigners in London, in fact i have 5 or 6 friends in London, romanians + one bulgarian. I'm sure i'll get to meet them after i'll settle in.

Plus, i'm always looking forward to making new friends.

And good luck to you too, in trying to land that job in Gibraltar.

You're absolutely right, seems like alot of British want to go to Canada, US or Australia whilst most of Europe want to come here. Lol.

Me and my fiance recently took a skilled visa assesment for Canada and passed so it's something we'll look into in the next 18-24 months.

2 of my buddies are going to Australia as well next month.

My friend spent a couple of months bartending in Mallorca, the stories i've heard are unreal.

Canada sounds like a good option also.

I've thought about it myself, but it would take some time for me to get there - like you said: 12-18 months time.
And i would need some money, wich i don't have atm.

Maybe i'll try it in the future, who knows?!

Australia is No.1 on my list, tbh. I would move there tomorrow if it wasn't so hard with visas and stuff like that. Maybe it will be easier if I get some experience in th UK.

PS: i sound like a whore, when talking about foreign countries But, i guess it's something most people would experiment: travelling all over the world, visiting countries, trying to experiment different lifestyles.

After all...life is so short.

Is it easier to get to USA than it is to Canada? And the life, where's it better?

If anyone knows anything on the subject.

Canada and US are very similar places to live, but our government is a little more draconian. We're also going through a major economic crisis, now is not a great time to move to the US

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

The time i spent in the US was great. Loved it.
But those were other times and i was just a young student.
Still, would love to visit the US again.

Thanks.

I'm only after the money.

And this would be nice: (it's from march, this year)

Life’s good, but…could be better - definitely. I’m in a process of taking a big step in my life - not marriage or kids - lol. I’m looking to leave Romania for a while and try to experiment living and working abroad. Probably the UK. I need this change. Hopefully it’s gonna happen in the next 5-6 weeks. And who knows – maybe I’m gonna meet one of the british MMAF members. Soojooko sounds fascinating!

With regards to emigration to Canada/US.

Professionally - i'd say it's 'easier' to emigrate to Canada, they have a simpler system for emigration (this may be based upon being British however, not sure) and somewhat actively seek to encourage/recruit you if you are skilled and will add something to the economy, the USA seems to be more subjective but i've not looked into it very much.

Personally - I prefer Canada, it seems more liberal and almost USA-lite if you like, all the great things of the USA with alot of the bad taken out, i could be wrong but i have relatives over there and they dont disagree with that assessment.
