So...i'm moving to England for a while...

Hey guys.
So. Here's the story.

My country, Romania, pretty much SUCKS! Big time.
The economy is weak, politicians are a bunch of corrupt a*sholes, liars and they just don't give a shit about the people.
Sometimes wish i could just shoot a bunch of them...all of them.

Bad economy = poor life style = people wanting to leave for a better place. I mean who wouldn't?! It's like abandoning a sinking ship.

Went through 4 jobs in the past 3 years and it's just not working out this way.

I got in touch with a recruitment company and they found me a job in the UK, at a nice resort - hotel-restaurant - near Gatwick Airport, in London.
The contract is for one year and then we will see.

I'm looking forward to this and i'm hoping it will turn out just fine. I'm not planning on getting rich, but i'm looking forward to improving my life standard.

It sucks ass that i have to leave my family and my friends behind, because this just isn't the best place to live in right now.
And the sad thing is...i'm not the only one doing this. More and more people - especially young people - are doing the same thing or considering doing it in the near future.

It's a sad thing for a country to have its young citizens leave, because the authorities are unable (aren't interested) to create the correct environment for economical developement and prosperity.

Came back today and read a breaking news: Nokia announced it's relocating the business from Romania to another country, because it's not worth keeping it open here. And the politicians aren't doing shit about it, trying to convince them to stay.
2,200 people will lose their job and Romania will lose 1% of GDP after Nokia leaves.

And this is only one company.

Just sad.
_______

But, enough with the sad tales: bottom line is - i'm looking forwards to this challenge and hope to make the best out of it.

On another note: any MMAF member living in London?! Or near London?!

Glad to hear you got away from Romania seeing as you've talked about it many times. England is naturally an awesome location, no language barrier, beautiful country and you know women with British accents are way too hot.

Just needed a reason to post her to MMAF yet again, thanks.

So when are you leaving?

I'm leaving next tuesday. Flying from Budapest to London, Gatwick Airport.

The place i'll work in, is just 10 minutes away from Gatwick airport, so that's pretty cool.

And yes: cute girls with accent are always awesome. I'm gonna try and find one.

PS: how about you Rauno?! Ever considered moving in another "location" aka...country?!

Good for you for making a huge change to improve your life, it must of been a scary and hard one to make. Britain's economy and politicians are pretty bleak also however!

I'll be on London later next month for a few days, and there's been talk of a big MMAF meet up for the next (after UFC 138) England UFC event. So come along to that? Should be settled by then as it's not until next year anyways.

Good luck man! Hope the transition is smooth.

Yeah...but there's no comparison to Romania tbh.
I haven't seen british people wanting to leave the UK for Romania yet.
So, i'm thinking. It's better over there.

Sounds good.
Will definitely keep in touch with you guys.

Attending a UFC event is on my agenda also. I hope the UFC will schedule one in Europe, sometimes in the first half of 2012.

Would be awesome to attend it, along with other MMAF members of course.

You must now become the #1 fan of Michael Bisping, if you do not comply you will be sent to a concentration camp in Moldova.

The first thing you will notice about London is that there are not many English people there however you will meet many Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian and Latvians among others.

I suggest you work to soften your American English (i presume you use the american variety).

I've thought about Sweden but not just yet.

I'm looking to secure a job in Finland now though, i'd prolly get 4 times the salary i got in my last job. A friend of mine is already there so i'm 80% sure i'm getting it.

An MMAF get-together in England? Lucky bastards.

Sweeden, Finland...that sounds cool. I was thinking about it myself not too long ago. But, there aren't many recruiting companies over here that have job offers for Finland/Sweeden/Norway/Denmark.

Maybe one day...who knows?!

Congrats man! You'll love it...

That being said I've only been to London once, and it's mental!
Also, like someone above said, lots of English speaking foreigners there too.

I'm in the same boat but hopefully leaving. Slugged it out in a crappy job for two long, find out shortly if I scored a job in Gibraltar on double the salary higher up in the company

Exciting times just thinking about it, must be twice that knowing it's happening.

Good luck!
