So. Here's the story.
My country, Romania, pretty much SUCKS! Big time.
The economy is weak, politicians are a bunch of corrupt a*sholes, liars and they just don't give a shit about the people.
Sometimes wish i could just shoot a bunch of them...all of them.
Bad economy = poor life style = people wanting to leave for a better place. I mean who wouldn't?! It's like abandoning a sinking ship.
Went through 4 jobs in the past 3 years and it's just not working out this way.
I got in touch with a recruitment company and they found me a job in the UK, at a nice resort - hotel-restaurant - near Gatwick Airport, in London.
The contract is for one year and then we will see.
I'm looking forward to this and i'm hoping it will turn out just fine. I'm not planning on getting rich, but i'm looking forward to improving my life standard.
It sucks ass that i have to leave my family and my friends behind, because this just isn't the best place to live in right now.
And the sad thing is...i'm not the only one doing this. More and more people - especially young people
- are doing the same thing or considering doing it in the near future.
It's a sad thing for a country to have its young citizens leave, because the authorities are unable (aren't interested)
to create the correct environment for economical developement and prosperity.
Came back today and read a breaking news: Nokia announced it's relocating the business from Romania to another country, because it's not worth keeping it open here. And the politicians aren't doing shit about it, trying to convince them to stay.
2,200 people will lose their job and Romania will lose 1% of GDP after Nokia leaves.
And this is only one company.
But, enough with the sad tales: bottom line is - i'm looking forwards to this challenge and hope to make the best out of it.
On another note: any MMAF member living in London?! Or near London?!
