Doesnt it suck when you feel like Cops are stealing from you??
On Saturday on my way home from work i got a ticket. Basically im tired and looking forward to getting home. I was turning right onto the free way. It was a RED LIGHT but that usually does not matter when making right turns. I waited for all the opposite traffic cars to make their left turn and then when it was clear i proceeded to make a right turn. Next thing i know the cop that i knew was behind me turned his lights on and pulled me over. Supposedly there was a sign somewhere that said "No right turns on red lights". I told him i just got off work im a bit tired and i honestly just did not see any sign that said that, it was a mistake and it wont happen again. He did not care that it was a humanly mistake that did not affect anyone anywhere even though i knew he was behind me and i would obviously not do anything illegal on purpose knowing he is right there. Now i have to report this ticket to my work, i dont classify for traffic court since i got my first speeding ticket recently (I was in a hurry turning in some papers for my job). So now i have a smudge on my record, im going to have to pay a fine, my dad will have to pay more for insurance (And we are trying to buy a new house currently), i have to report this to my work or i could lose my job, all because i did not notice a pointless sign that in all reality has no business being there since the same exact right turns are allowed all over the place at any intersection but for some reason they decided to make it illegal in this certain intersection.
I just really really despise cops like that. I hate to say this but i literally have so much hate for this cop right now.
I know i made a mistake but it was an honest mistake that i am sure he has made himself. Its not like there are glowing arrows pointing at this sign and i chose to not read it. I literally just did not see the damn thing especially since i was tired from work and i just wanted to get home.
That was my first cop encounter where i felt totally raped. Most of the time they are completely fair and understanding. This guy just.... i dont even want to say it.
Yup, I hate when shit like that happens. Ive gotten three of two of the stop light camera tickets recently and I refuse to pay them. On one of them I was in the middle of the intersection when the light turned red, on the other, I wasnt even a foot over the white line at a red light. Traffic enforcement serves a purpose, but unfortunately there are a lot of police that give out silly tickets just to make it seem like they are staying busy when their reports come out.
I got a ticket not too long ago for making a U_Turn during a green light. At first I thought it was a no uturn zone because I just moved into the apartment down the street. But I checked it out and there is no "No u-turn" signs any where close. Not even within 3 red lights.
I feel your pain man. Especially because after that every time I saw that cop....I knew it was him because he was the only black Cop on a motorcycle.....He had some one pulled over and I saw him every day for a good month. Then he was gone.
The thing that really sucks about silly tickets, even if you are in the right and have the proof to get out of it, you have to go and sit in court for hours, plead not guilty, then half the time they give you another early ass court date and then you have to get out of work for a day and sit in court for another four hours. Its a complete pain in the ass.
I've heard you can put off paying a ticket indefinitely. Friend of mine kept getting it pushed back just by calling the court saying he was unable to make it. He finally put it off so damned the long the cop didn't even show up and it was dismissed. But that was only half of the plan, the other half was to ask the officer tons of specific questions about him and the situation that day/night and pretty much have him not know or be wrong. And because of that say there is no way he can adequately recall the encounter and he was mistaken. Granted this is the same guy who ran a stop sign, went back two hours later, vandalized the stop sign with spray paint, took a picture and sent the picture in with his ticket and they dropped it.
I'd say put off the court date long as possible anyways, I mean 200$~ is roughly 6 lap dances and 6 beers.. Yea gonna give that to the court instead... Pshh
