Also not to mention the Rhinos have their horns cut off for profit and nothing more, and are left to die. They generally bleed to death. I have a big problem with that, and really wish evil things on those involved.
I agree entirely. The same can be said for cutting off the fin of a shark and throwing it back to drown. I understand that these people live a different lifestyle that I don't entirely understand (and so I'll save my 'they sicken me' schtick), but human emotion, at its most rudimentary level, should spark some sense of pity or sympathy for the animal which you've hacked off a piece of. If you're going to saw off a horn, don't simply leave what's left to bleed to death. If you're going to cut off a fin, don't simply throw what's left back into the ocean to drown.
I don't know what it's like to live a life of poverty, and so I can't completely understand how a man could be driven to poaching... but we as humans are all capable of sympathy. It's in that regard that people like poachers are scum and can kiss the whitest part of my ass. Do what you feel you must, but do so humanely. If you've got the animal tranquilized or in a net, how difficult is it to put it out of its misery?
