Its easier to lose weight if you only one to lose one or two pounds since your system gets shocked but then your body starts to compensate for your new diet which makes it even more difficult, Same with the fact that you get better conditioned as you work out so it no longer burns as much fat. Its why they say the first pound is the easiest and the last the hardest. Obviously though if your a fairly athletic person to begin with though it gets that much more difficult.
