Another damn doomsday prediction

:confused05:
This is getting rediculus first it was may 21st that passed then october 21st now we survived that one. Now i figured with 2 fail predictions in less than 5 month we would get a break untill 2012 however now we got a whole nother dooms day to worry about and that is october 28th of 2011.

thenit seems like we have another to worry about on november the 8th

Quote:

Recent findings show that an Asteroid labelled “YU55”, a round mini-world that is about 400 metres in diametre, will approach the earth on November 8, this year. Due to its size, and the way it will whisk by so close to the Earth, an extensive campaign of radar, visual and infrared observations are being planned.

“The gigantic metallic-rock, which will be visible will small telescopes would release the power of 65,000 atom bombs and leave a six mile crater, which would be 2000 feet deep if it hits the earth,” NASA said. American Scientist, however, said that there is no cause for alarm while their counterparts in Russia disagree and said there is something to fear about the planetesimal body.

The asteroid will be the Closest ever asteroid to approach the earth that hasn’t actually hit the planet earth. It is safe to say that this is a world ender and would surely push humanity to the brink of extinction, if it hits the earth. NASA has officially labelled it. “Potentially, Hazardous object”. But it has stressed there is no danger of impact while on its current course. NASA rejects the Russian report, calling the chances of the asteroid hitting the Earth ‘Minuscule’. Some Scientists believe the asteroid will approach the earth at a distance of only 201700 miles and will not hit the earth.
So join me in enjoying our alleged final day and then shout to the world when the 28 passes that we are still here. Then do the same as november the 8th passes.

People have been "predicting" the end of the world for thousands of years, it's really nothing new.

Past current and future religions, deists, stand alone Christians/religious people making up their own belief system structured around the bible of their choosing, etc, will always make predictions, and always be wrong, always.

The only reason some religions like Christianity "get away with it", is because they don't give a date. They just say "someday it will happen!". Well, DURRRR, of course someday this world will be gone, it won't be here forever.

All predictions are just pointless, and it's best to just ignore them.

I know however it makes me mad because the people just take money who believe this stuff. I would love to get my hands on that Harold Camping guy.

Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous. It shows you how gullible and delusional the human mind can really be, to have people following that nut-job and his "prediction", spending whole life savings on it, it's crazy.

People have been believing in God's, magic, mysticism, titans, men with dog heads, undead armies, resurrections, spells, curses, witches, prophets, psychic readings, the paranormal, and on the subject at hand, "the end of the world", etc etc, throughout human history.

Humans are just animals, and animals can easily be deluded and misguided, fed false information and belief, and accept it. Just part of our nature, a part that we are breaking away from thankfully, with millions of people on the planet understanding all of this.

No probs fixing the post.

I don't know about you guys, but 2 times in one month has to be way more than just a coincidence...I'm gonna go repent my sins.... right after this one...

One day some nutjob will predict the end of the world and on the same day the CERN super collider will actually really cause a black hole that swallows all of us. And on that fateful day this one guy will say "Told ya!".

"Once Every 5000 years, Toyotathon and Lobsterfest will fall on the same day, that is the true day of the apocolypse" Not sure who said that, but its the prediction I choose to believe.

if you actually look at the way the universe moves then you will see why we are entering a time of concern, the universe kind of circles though its own orbit like the way the earth orbits the sun within the universe.

Many ancient cultures none less than The Hopi or the Mayans warned us about this period of time we are now entering, this is largely due to the fact that the universe its self in now entering a hazards section of space where major collision with an asteroid is at its most likely.

Many have cast shadow over the seriousness of the danger the planet is currently facing and will be facing over the next year as it passes though this area of space by saying "the world will end on this specific day" then that day passes and we are still here and everyone laughs and says what a joke we are now safe because nothing happened, when in fact we are still in the hazardous area and are yet clear from danger, even when signs of the danger that may truly exist here have been given already with 2 asteroids passing near by to us within the first month of entering this danger zone.

Is worse yet to come, who knows the time period only started at the end of this month and is not over until the end of 2012, there is not much left in the way of evidence from any culture that was here the last time the universe was within this area of space over 3000 years ago, if as some believe that during that time the earth was globally populated then they must have faced some kind of horrific event at that time which wiped them out since looking beyond then we have evidence to support the population growth into that it is today.

So take your pick ether u believe that humans are new to the planet and only started to evolve just over 3000 years ago and we are the first of our species to ever achieve global control (even though the dinosaurs where wiped out millions of years ago possibility during the time when the universe was again in this area of space), or that humans have populated the earth before now only to face an event of huge proportion that has wiped us out before to only a handful of survives the last time been just over 3000 years ago from where current history starts to show the growth of our re-population.

even the bible says "nobody will be able to predict the end" and the truth is there is no exact date given on the predictions during this period, but all evince does suggest that this period its self is very dangerous, so I guess from now until we are clear of this time spell (if we get thought this time spell) that there are going to be people who jump out of there seats and give a date they think will be the end every time we see a new asteroid heading by us even if its not heading at us.

...No. Just no.

The Universe doesn't have an Orbit. I'm pretty sure you mean Galaxy right? Or Solar System?
