It's not that I'm mad about him shooting the computer. Although that was quite creepy, that was probably an acceptable punishment. However, this stuttering attempt to shame his daughter though was the worst move he could have made aside from physical abuse.

There is so much money being spent in public schools for anti-bullying campaigns these days. Meanwhile is being the ultimate bully to his daughter by making it a gigantic public issue.

She is a kid. This will literally change her entire life, lol. Meanwhile, the dad is doing everything he can to avoid interviews and justify what he has done.

If that happened to me when I was a kid and all of my friends saw that, It's 50/50 suicide or run away. There was no reason to alienate his daughter and risk that type of shame and embarrassment for her.

It's maddening that there is even another side to the argument here when you consider the risk he took with his daughter and their relationship.

you didn't read his written posts did you?

His daughter is fine... wants him to shoot her phone...

People were telling her she was going to commit suicide, commit a gun-related crime, become a drug addict, drop out of school, get pregnant on purpose, and become a stripper because she’s too emotionally damaged now to be a productive member of society. Apparently stripper was the job-choice of most of the commenters. Her response was “Dude… it’s only a computer. I mean, yeah I’m mad but pfft.” She actually asked me to post a comment on one of the threads (and I did) asking what other job fields the victims of laptop-homicide were eligible for because she wasn’t too keen on the stripping thing.

People want to pretend kids are so innocent and defenseless when it comes to situations like this, yet on the flipside, they need to be held accountable when they do something wrong. Biggest double standard in America right now.

But yeah, that video was hilarious....nothing funnier than an educated redneck.

I've read everything the guy has had to say, trust me I have plenty of free time. I think maybe you guys are discounting the risks he took, regardless of the results.

It's not a good thing to set a trend for humiliating your children, although I am sure he never expected the situation to get to blown up. I don't think shooting her computer was a big deal but the rant was douche-chilling.

I think the thing that bothers me most is his candor. He's a stuttering prick.

I don't understand peoples reaction to this. it's not like he has a "trend" of using fb and youtube to punish his kid.

She willfully and purposely embarrassed her family in the most public way that she could.

Now she knows how that feels and probably won't do it again.

I think the punishment fits the crime.

To me it seems more like a situation where an adult over reacted and acted exactly like the child did, or worse.

There was no composure or calculation on his part. It would not have been difficult to come to a more tactful solution.

His kid is probably brainwashed beyond repair at this point anyway, so it's no wonder to me that none of this is a surprise to her.

If you don't at least get some douche-chills watching this video, I don't think we'll ever agree on this.

edit: can't rep you again yet.

Maybe it's just me, but bullets and laptops are to expensive to waste. He could have sold the dang thing and got money for it! Same result + 8 more defense rounds = Better option IMO. As far him posting the video, he could have just dealt with it without posting it for the world to see (I realize he had a point) after he calmed down a little.
