Machida open to fighting at heavyweight

I'm on my phone and can't provide something official but I read on "MMA Opinion" that Machida won't be fighting til next year; which I already read that on here but the second part to that was that Machida stated he is open to fighting at heavyweight... idk if this is true or not but all I can think of is his recent 203 204 weigh ins and it has me wondering if he should take on someone like Struve to see how he would do in a reach disadvantage. What's your opinion on this?

I couldn't find anything saying he was considering this. Maybe I missed it but until I see something concrete it is just a silly rumor to me.

Machida has said before that he wouldnt mind fighting at HW and fighting someone like Brock Lesnar. That's never actually going to happen, though. There's no reason for the UFC to make those fights happen, and Machida will be focused on the LHW division.

Its absurd,. he is small at LHW and a fight at HW would do nothing for his standing. The UFC would have zero interest in this.

He'd beat Lesnar.

Machida is like the terminator, super-saiyan version of Randy wrestling wise, and he's got the best striking at 205. Lyoto would stuff Lesnar's take-downs like Randy did except I think he'd finish Lesnar standing after a big hit.

Lyoto's TDD and wrestling negate his size disadvantage. Not saying he'd be in contention (JDS is a training partner/would kill him, Velasquez would terminate him etc) but I think he'd break top 10 without a lot of struggle.

Ok but why would he there's still so many good fights for him at lhw I guess I could picture it if he loses to Jbj but thats still quite a bit away.

Lmao this idea that Machida has this super human TDD is hilarious to me. The guy has not faced a single opponent to prove that he has GOOD tdd much less GREAT.

Randy and Ortiz should not even be mentioned and Rashad Evans was still so focused on striking that i think he maybe had 1 lazy take down attempt on Machida?? and i am not even sure that he did that.

From that you believe that Machida would stuff Lesnars take downs??

Jesus crist... people will buy in to anything.

I would love to see a Machida/Mike Russow fight.

Sure Machida would have a have a chance thanks to his elusive style and Brocks response to absorbing punches but i seriously doubt he'd stuff a Lesnar takedown. Brock has trained wrestling all his life, has a massive strength and size advantage and so far has taken down every fighter he has faced (even Cain). Machida wouldn't spring up like Cain did.

Him moving up a weight class would only mean a sooner departure from the UFC. It's a waist of conversation.
