ALONG TIME AGO... WAY BACK WHEN ... I was still a Mod and was able to be on often... WE were discussing the possibility of groups... at the time the big hold up was that the forum did not have a vast enough membership... Well I do not think this is a problem anymore.. I may not be a mod anymore but I still check the forum and think this would be an excellent idea.

Clan Guidelines/Outlines

1. Clan HQ

When a new clan is started, it must achieve a total of at least 6 active members within two weeks. If a clan succeeds in doing so, it must report to the Clan HQ and post the required information. Only the Clan Leader may post in this thread, unless notified before hand. There should be a list of all the Clans in this Thread.

2. Clan Council

Each clan that has a post in the Clan HQ must have a designated Representative to speak in the Council. The Council mostly determines Clan Contests and other such inter-clan activities. Only clan representatives and Mods can post in the clan council's thread. Breaking this rule will result in a warning.

3. Reporting Posts

if you want something done about a thread or post report it and use that funny text box to explain the situation. It makes our lives easier and your forums cleaner.

4. Starting New Clan Threads

Only clan members can start clan threads. Breaking this rule is a serious offense.
When a clan Member starts a new Clan thread, he must do 2 things
1. Post the URL to the new thread on the old one. Any posts after this URL in the old thread will be deleted.
2. Notify the Mods to archive the old thread. (In order to notify the moderators that a thread needs archived, please use the "Report Post" button as it will notify both of us automatically. Be sure to specifically say that it needs archiving in the report.)
3. Each Clan can have only one thread at any given time.
Not performing these 3 actions (especially the second one) may grant the new thread starter a warning.

5. Posting in Other Clan's Threads

if a clan asks you to cease posting on their thread, you CAN be warned for continuing to do so! However, this decision must be reached by a majority of that clan.

5a. Clan Recruitment

Attempting to recruit members away from other Clans by posting in those Clans' threads, unless you have been granted explicit and public permission by that Clan's leader to do so, is a warn able offense.

6. Clan Membership

Each person may not belong to more than one Clan. Breaking this Rule may bring consequences to that person and everyone else in the clan.
Many clans allow you to become a 'friend' of that clan. Please keep in mind that as you aren't an official member of the clan, you can be punished for aiding or hindering said clan with any of the Clan Contests.

This is not set in stone, changes can be made. We can make this a sub thread. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed.

So on..........

To be a member just ask the leader of the clan to join and start posting, you can only be in on clan. In the first post of the clan should list members of the clan and if a clan has a friends list the names should also be posted there. Remember the whole point of clans is to have fun and so people can talk about whatever they like, maybe after we get this off the ground we could start doing clan contest.

@Adminmma can you or another admisinstator give people points, and I don't mean the donate option? If you can, maybe we could use that as a prize for the clan contest?

I think this is what we were talking about. I used the name clans but groups/teams/camps all work as well.
