This seems to be my downfall as well - I have alot of friends who smoke, especially when we're drinking :/
A ton of my friends smoke constantly or only do it when they drink. Either way every party there was a massive group of people smoking and it was so tough.
I actually started smoking regularly when I started partying all of the time.
Well I'm not willing to give up my mates and my drink - but I could do without the cigs. I'm down to a handful a day, but still, I just want to quit and be done with it.
Prices for tobacco are rising here (again) on the 1st, so I hope to kick it by then and I've already made my plan.
Every cigarette I own (wether it's an entire pack or none) goes in the trash on the 1st. I then take the following weekend off from drinking so that I have at least 13 days in a row without partying, hope that'll do the trick

At least smoke electronic cigarettes...cleaner vapor. I hate smoking so anything to help. I swear it's part of the governments plan to depopulate the planet.

Smoking is not any good and I know it. Unfortunately it is the one thing I just can't get a grip on. I don't drink anymore,so that's not an excuse. I also don't party with extracurricular substances anymore, just these damn cigs.Over the past couple of months I have tried to stop several times and currently have 7 smokes left in my pack. I'm gonna take this thread and give it a try AGAIN. I just bought a new whip, so the $150 a month on cigs could be more useful for my purchase.

Dang $150 a month. You must average several packs a week. Everybody has different vices whether it's boning bar sluts such as myself, gambling also myself, video games (myself), alcohol not myself, cigarettes also not myself. I know people who went to therapy for their gambling addictions. It's all the same. If you want to quit you have to make a conscious effort.
- waste of money
- detrimental to your health
- you won't be able to see your grandchildren
- second hand actually kills other people (friends, family, wife unless they smoke too)
You have the right mindset though because you already know the negative aspects of it. You can do it! Better yet make a bet with me that you can quit or else you'll have to pay me $150. I won't be happy taking your money, but if that's what it takes to make you stop then I'll do it!

God damn, gambling, thank god I'm still in school and don't have a job yet, I'd probably spend my free time in a casino.

That made me laugh, game on! Also I have too much going on to be still smoking; 3 year old and one on the way. I love every second of my daughters life in just 3 years so I am certain I don't want to miss anymore than I have too.

That's the right mindset. If you smoke your baby is smoking too. The particles get on your clothing and permeates into the house. She could develop asthma.
On a lighter note, if he can do it you can too!
Moral of the story go through "Play Therapy."

The way smoking is handled now is how it should be (but with more freedom). People should be more than free to smoke (cigs and weed both, and other things) as long as there are areas designed for it, and areas that are not designed for it.
What I find absolutely ridiculous is when anti-smoking people/companies try to invade on SMOKING BARS. Bars that say "this is a smoking bar, you can smoke here" then people go into the bar and they are all like "there should be a non-smoking section". It's like, who the hell gives you the right to tell anyone that, much less someone who opens a bar that is specifically a smoking bar.
/pointless rant.
On topic, I don't smoke but my mom was in the hospital for a week because of it, it damaged her lungs a lot and that was some 4 years ago and she hasn't touched a single cig since, so I'm proud of her for that.
I hope you guys get off the smoking, if you want to do it no big deal you only live once and people need to vent one way or another (or just like it) but if you can get off of it, good stuff.
