The greatest albums of the 00's
Trying to set up a fun little vote here. Don't believe this has been done before on these boards. So basically what I want you to do is decide along with me the best music album made between 2000 and 2009. If this is a success I might go back in time to the 90's, 80's and so on. Hell, I might do that anyway. Hopefully it will lead to some good discussion and perhaps you will find some new great albums and bands you've never even heard of.
So what I want you to do now is nominate albums for the vote. Any album from any genre is allowed. If it's released between 2000 and 2009, and you feel it's worthy to be in contention for best album of the noughties, nominate it. Now! I'm gonna limit this to 3 nominations for each person for now. I'll begin. Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf (2002) ![]() Radiohead - Kid A (2000) ![]() Morrissey - You Are The Quarry (2004) ![]() |
The Game - The Documentary
50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin' DJ Tiesto - In Search Of Sunrise (although the first was Nov. 22 - 1999) Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below Coldplay - Parachutes Rap is unfortunately done now. Those two were the last hurrah in the gangsta rap genre. I'll think of more. Without a doubt music was at its best in the 80's and 90's. |

Hip Hop is not dead. Pharoahe Monch, The Roots, Royce Da 5'9, Sean Price, Black Milk, Atmosphere, Binary Star.. I could go on for days. You just have to know where to look, you can go a lot deeper than Get Rich Or Die Tryin'!!. The Australian Hip Hop scene is thriving at the moment aswell. To answer the OP: J Dilla: The Shining The Roots: How I Got Over The Roots: The Tipping Point The Roots: Undun DJ Shadow: The Private Press The Avalanches: Since I Left You Illzilla: Wasteland I listen to a lot of Reggae, SKA, Trip Hop, Soul, Funk, Blues & Jazz so the vast majority of my favourites are pre 2000. |
So many great albums in the past decade that i can't really rank them. It's obvious what's my most anticipated album right now is.
