How do people that get banned form forums get back on?
 

Dont they get permanently locked out and their IP banned?

Why is it trolls can get banned and come straight back on to mock the moderators that banned them and do even worse stuff than before!?

Out of curiousity, what prompted the question?

Depending on what they did, bans vary in length. People who aren't spammers rarely get perma-bans but there are a few prolific members currently serving lengthy bans.

The forum works on an infraction system. Each infraction gives a certain amount of points on a users profile. When that amount reaches a certain limit, they are banned for a specific period of time.

Long time/perma bans aren't given out often on this forum.

They use a proxy ip if they are ip banned, or they just come back with a new email. Its not to hard.

I disagree. Banned regulars returning under new names are so easy to spot. Usually within 10-20 posts you know it's them.

Eh, coming back and sticking around are different things - when i was admin on boxingforum.com most banned users didnt really try to hide who they were. Just wanted to cause some trouble for a while...
