Agreed - Keep this thread clean, civil and based on argumentation. Otherwise it will be closed, tradition tells us that gun threads (Among a few other topics) must be kept on a short leash.
As a great man once said - Bold text means serious!

Well, it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out...
unless you're a gun supporter!

Mate - I agree with you on guns on a lot of points, but leave this thread unless you're willing to present logical, well thought out arguments.
If not, we will have to infract and close the thread. It was stated on the first page that this thread was going to be watched carefully, so all of you, act accordingly.

I've seen enough claims of "commom sense" gun control to last a lifetime these last few days. If you had read my previous post that stated that between 270,000,000 and 350,000,000 guns would still be perfectly legal to own you would know of what I speak.
It would be fantastic if criminals started obeying laws but they hasn't started yet as far as I can tell. What is your suggestion again?

Let him post what he wants to post Budhi, noone is going to have their feelings hurt. This information needs to be available to everyone or they will go around ignorant to the subject like so many others. In fact, maybe a different moderator would be better suited to look over this thread. No offense, of course
Edit: You never answered if you have grabbed a weapon in self defense before

I would suggest to study the before and after homicide rates in countries that have successfully applied strict gun control, but i guess that wouldn't come out favorable for your pov so you better leave that alone.

Trained, armed, guards protect our banks, grocery stores, politicians, nuclear power plants and others and noone thinks it's a bad idea. Why would the NRA training ex military and retired law enforcement officers FOR FREE to protect children in schools be so different?
It would create new jobs and more importantly give retired persons a way to make money who have lost out bigtime on their 401k's and give ex military who have enough trouble finding employment a sense of accomplishment when they return from war overseas. Many schools already have armed guards.
I honestly don't see why the cost of protecting school children is such a high priority and I don't even like children for the most part. Most of them are whiny, annoying, little bastards imo
The NRA has been training some of the best before most of your parents were born and they want to do it for free to protect the offspring of all Americans. What is so bad about that?

As I stated in my earlier post, aside from confiscation that would result in civil war there is no law that will unarm Americans. I'm not even going to waste my time looking at homicide rates tbh. What other suggestions do you have?

yeah.... you should talk about something you have real knowledge on not just recycling what the media has said. Hey mexico has had banned every gun for years and it's a paradise isn't it. At least budhi has some sort of logical argument here even if I don't agree with it.

Can I ask, and this isn't me trying to be a dick or anything but have any of you gun owners ever actually had to shoot another person?
I find it quite interesting that people who own guns say they do so for defence, which implies they have them to use on intruders/attackers but I'm intrigued to hear if you have ever actually had to use one. I find the thought of shooting someone quite scary and horrible to be honest and I am quite interested to hear what normal average Joes like myself would feel about killing or maiming someone? The way I hear Americans speak about it it seems to be quite matter of fact and just kinda "done". I'd have second thoughts about punching someone full force never mind firing at someone!

Well as I mentioned there's no point of having in the country since our ***** laws stink, but I have had to fend off people with knives and bats before with my MMA training alone when I would have rathered scared them off or shot them with my gun. And no one actually wants to use a gun on a person anyhow it's just a precaution and to hope it doesn't happen. But all too often when theres a serial attacker like sandy hook guy and dark knight rises guy, there's not a soul to fire back and stop the carnage. And I believe the areas these attacks happen are mainly gun free zones anyhow so it doesn't matter.
