all I hear from spike "Channel for men"

well why the **** do you censor movies? why is violence more accepted in this society then language or nudity? what is wrong with the world today?

I'd rather my kid see a nice pair of tits then some guy get cracked in the head and bleed to death.

Yea, but its true, but the reason they have to cencore it is cause kids watch spike too.

which was my point, its ok for children to watch brutality and violence but when it comes to language and nudity, its bad.

No they have to censor it because it is the law, any non premium channel must censor things according to the law (the later/easier it gets the less they have to censor).

spike is censored because it's on broadcast TV... you get cable, you get Spike. the "TV for men" thing is a gimmick. sure it's programming is geared towards men, but that doesn't mean it's unedited...

i just don't understand this statement. not that i'd rather have a kid of mine see tits than death, but what does this have to do with criticizing Spike for being a censored channel on broadcast cable, yet supposedly hypocritical for it's content and marketing?

you have like 3 or four grievences in one thread, but they're all lumped together.

Spike does occasionally play uncensored shows. But other than that PT has the best explanation.

dopesmoker is talking about the hypocrisy involved with legislation that allows graphic violence but not nudity.

it is far more damaging for kids to see violence, since it's been proven over and over that they get desensitized to it and gradually begin to see it as normal and OK.

this misguided morality pervades network and most cable tv.

there are lots of shows on spike that are specifically aimed at guys, what about bullrun and the 100s of car and truck shows? while we're talking about mxc, me and my "little girls" watch it every chance we get. I don't give a crap about all the double entendre on there b/c as I just said, it's less harmful that seeing someone go down in a hail of bullets on csi or something.
