Tampered Mail

Today I recieved an envelope and it was already opened. I know what was inside because I was expecting it but it was missing. I'm not sure how or what to do about it? I know tampering with mail is a federal offense and I'm going to the post office tomorrow to see if I can get some answers. Has anyone been in this situation, is there a procedure to follow on trying to get what was most likely taken?

All you can really do is talk to the post office workers and hope they can help you. Otherwise, I'm not too sure you can do anything about it:dunno: Hope it wasn't anything too important Kam

Contact authorities about it.

If you are CERTAIN you know what it was, explain it and see if it can be replaced. Unless it was something sent from a family member or something.

Hard issue to handle to tell you the truth....best of luck KAM.
