Wrestling appeals to a broader aspect of television than MMA. Wrestling has something for almost everyone. MMA is straight forward and geared towards a certain demographic. The WWE was like this during the 80's and early 90's but now the demographic is much wider. Beside networks aren't afraid to put wrestling on tv because wrestling is just acting, it's sports entertainment, where MMA is a sport.

grown men on steroids, in tights, pretending to hurt each other, cut themselves to further put on the 'show', horrible acting and horrible plot lines
if thats not stupid, I dont know what is
I hope you used sport loosely when you put sport entertainment

Not sure about the roids, some don't wear tights, pretending to hurt themeselves? Don't think so, cutting themselves to make the show look good is called dedication, the acting and plotlines are suppose to be crazy like soap operas during the day.
Sports Entertainment!
Break that down:
Sport - Wrestling is a sport, yes.
Entertainment - It's on tv, yes.
Therefore it's Sports Entertainment.

if you think its all fake, you are only kidding yourself. some of the things they do to entertain us really do hurt. Roids? i don't think so, theres a wellness policy, if they are caught they will be suspended or fired. tights? not that many wear tights these days.
Horrible acting? yep ill give you that one. horrible plot lines? some are meant to be corny

there is olympic wrestling (the sport) then there is wwe wrestling (the flop)
believe me, when I was younger I did the shit those wrestlers do, the only good ones are the high flyers, the acrobats (ray mysterio)
ive been on wrestling ring and recieved suplexes and the whole works, doesnt hurt one bit, now as for ladder matches, sure, you could get hurt.

If you think wrestling will ever die, you don't know much about wrestling history, and how ingrained it is in American culture. Plus, who cares? some people like wrestling...
