What the FOCK!?!?! Are you serious? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Who the hell did THEY copy? They didn't start going downhill until Cliff Burton died. After that I guess you could say they started copying other bands, but they didn't take credit for it Their albums with cliff and dave mustaine are unbelievable, there's no word to describe them. They are all masterpieces, just insane. They take credit for what they did with those albums, and they have the right to. There was NO ONE like metallica in the 80s...They were lightyears ahead of 98% of the other bands.

Name me one band in the 80s that were more talented than Metallica. Have you ever listened to their 80s shit at all? No one could touch them. No one could consistantly make 8-11 minute songs that rock the entire way through. I defy you to name me more than 1 or 2 bad songs from 80s metallica.
